Default Who's the next Captain?
With the great possibility of our longtime captain, who do we say takes over for him? Will it be Cammy? Tangs? Gio?

My vote goes out to Cammy. He's a capable scorer and seems like a pretty good guy around the locker room. If Gio picks his play up, he wouldn't be too bad a choice, and Tanguay is the next best veteran on the team. Maybe Kipper's the next goalie captain? Seems a bit quiet for that duty. It's an interesting topic though.. sure will be odd to see someone wearing the C that isn't Iginla, whenever that may be.

If Iginla is traded, I don't think we should have a captain for a while.

This team needs to find its new identity first. I don't think you can do that by handing out the C right away.

I am hoping that Iginla is staying for a discount.

If that doesn't happen I think it has to be Tanguay based on his relationship with Hartley. It also helps that he is currently one of our longest signed players.

Cammy?! I hope he's one of the first out of town. He doesn't need to be here if Iginla isn't.

No 'C' for at least a season. Let someone make it obvious to their teammates and the coaches. Quickly naming a new 'C' if/when Iggy is traded, would be in poor taste and would seem... fake. Should be organic.

IF Iggy goes at the trade deadline, they'll hold the C for him til he signs as an FA in the summer

I agree with this 100%.

This team shouldn't have a captain for a bit if Iggy gets traded. I say go with three A's for a while.

If there absolutely has to be a captain. My vote would be for Cammalleri.
