The OHL is a developmental league in which 95% of the players have no future NHL career. I think that especially at the younger levels headshots and the like should be banned given the known long lasting ramifications on the health and wellbeing of the injured party.

I could be wrong, but I think most levels of minor hockey already use a zero-tolerance rule on head shots.

Hockey Calgary, however, is using this study as a platform to again campaign for a ban on contact at non-elite levels of minor hockey. I would argue that this will result in an increase in injuries and concussions, not a decrease. Especially at Bantam or Midget, for the same reason why women's college hockey is so dangerous.

Agreed. If kids don't learn hot to use their bodies at a size and age that they're aren't that strong, then it's going to create more harm later on when they've grown but don't have the experience of receiving and giving hits.
