Probably tired. Australian Open followed by Davis Cup followed by San Jose followed by Memphis.

That's 300 points from last year off the board and he's down to 16th. He needs to find those 300 points later in the year, hopefully in a different 500 tournament. At least now he will rest up for Indian Wells and Miami, the two Masters 1000 tournaments.

-----

On an unrelated note, tennis is now a man's man's game.

For the first time in a long time, there is nobody under the age of 20 in the top 250.

The first 19 year old to appear on the list is Japan's Taro Daniel ranked 282, and the first 18 year old is Australia's Luke Saville ranked 349.

Canada's 19 year old Filip Peliwo is ranked 519.

Vote for Calgary to host the next tie: (after Italy )

http://www.facebook.com/TennisCanada

It doesn't really mean much, but at least they'll see there's interest here

heh

Posipsil has been placed in the draw, he was the last of the 12 qualifiers out of the hat. He'll face Dennis Istomin and if he wins that, a date with the Master.

Denis Istomin - Vasek Pospisil
Roger Federer [2] - Bye

He was supposed to play tomorrow but his opponent has withdrawn!

BNP Paribas Open ‏@BNPPARIBASOPEN Michael Llodra has withdrawn from #BNPPO13 due to hip flexor injury. (17) @milosraonic receives walkover into 3rd round.

And for your entertainment, here are pictures from the player's gala

Huge win for Raonic after losing the first set 6-3. Next up, Tsonga or Fish (unlikely).

Really hoping to see him face Tsonga after the epic match they had in the olympics.

Oh me too, plus a win means a match against Djokovic in the 1/4 finals, which he'll almost certainly lose but he needs experience playing the best.
