I am 100% calm. I really do mean to say that you're all behaving as if you are on your period. I'm not drunk or angry or happy. I'm right in the middle. It's just ridiculous to suggest that we suck after an effort like that. Hockey IS a game of bounces and that WAS one of those games where the bounces just didn't go our way. We aren't a team that can't finish. We've been doing a fine job of it this year.

Thought the Flames played really well until the first screw up by #5. After that the ice was largely tilted in the Ducks favour.
In general, no one played all that badly except for Mr. Bean.
My god, Gio is playing like such a reject right now. It's actually becoming pretty embarrassing. What a piss off!

Maybe it's just me, but hovering around the .500 mark is not doing a fine job.

no, you don't see that after every game. You see it after game that it applies to. Tonight was one of them. Flames played a decent game tonight against a top team in a tough building that no else in the West is winning in. They lost, it happens. No one on this board is shouting moral victories against the real ugly games this season. Go to the PG threads in the games versus Vancouver, STL or PHX, you aren't going to see the same kind of reaction as you see here tonight. Why? Because people know there was some good tonight.
Flames weren't dominated like the scoreline suggests, not even close.

|
If the Flames suck, then so do the Kings, Sharks, Blues, Stars, Coyotes. Because those are all teams the Flames are within relative striking distance of. Look at the standings, it's right there. This league is so tight, it's so much harder to win, game in/game out in this league.
So if the Flames suck, then there's only 2-3 teams in the West who don't suck in your mind and everyone else is garbage.

I can't fathom having this kind of mindset, pathetic.

Not sure how anyone can say after a 4-0 loss that the team played well enough to win. Scoring goals is the only way you play well enough to win and the team got blanked. Yes they had territorial advantage but the Ducks had better goaltending and were more opportunistic. The better team won end of story.
However it's probably not the time to write off the team as they simply don't get the bounces in this building and it's bordering on a curse. Hopefully they regroup and find the back of the net tomorrow.

I'm confident that Calgary will bounce back with a HUGE win tomorrow night.
Positive thinking. Do it!

Kipper was beat by Fasth and that's the game.
This is a .500 or sub-.500 hockey team just continuing to go about it's business.

Nah, it was more their top offensive players are better than ours.

...well, their top offensive players are significantly better than ours, so there's that explanation.
Can't overlook that ANA made just as many defensive zone mistakes as we did, but Fasth bailed his team out while Kipper failed to do that for his teammates.

Um, read the entire post man.
The guy was calling out people for making the excuses or moral victories or whatever you wanna call it in EVERY post game thread after a loss. That's simply not the case. Go back and read the threads in the real ugly games. There's none of that.
Tonight was not one of the real ugly games of the year. There was good here tonight.
Seriously, read the entire post, then attempt a smart ass comment.

Listened to the game on the radio. Sounded like Fasth was a brick wall and we were just snake bit. We're cursed in that damn building anyway so onto LA and hopefully they pick up some points.

Home game?
Can't understand the losing streak at the Honda Center - I mean, we should feel like it's a home game in there - tons of Flames fans! Kinda like Phoenix last I was there and went to a Flames game. Crazy.
Also - Can't believe I'm saying this as I'm as big of a Kipper-lover as you'll see, but I hope Mac gets the start tomorrow night. Kipper didn't look quite right tonight.

I've read every word of this thread. We differ on what is an ugly game, losing 4-0 to me is pretty damn ugly. I understand what you're trying to say, Calgary showed a lot of energy and took it to the Ducks at times, but that is just a moral victory because we couldn't score.

This was one of many games this year where we gave away points to the opposition that clearly we should have had. We are not going to make the playoffs when we fail to win games we dominate. Colorado, Minnesota, Chicago and on it goes.... Unless this pattern changes quickly the Flames will be hitting the golf course earlier.

Lol, "Anaheim's big guns".
Dan Winnik scored the game winner from cogliano and koivu.
