4 - Winnipeg - A lot of good young players, I think Pavelec can be good enough for the playoffs.
5 - Edmonton - Short season will be quite a gift for their youth even if I am unsure of Dubnyk.
---PLAYOFFS---
6 - Calgary - This will probably be the year it all blows up.
7 - Toronto - I don't think they will get Luongo and Reimer will be unstable.
I think there will be several Canadian teams that make the playoffs.

Montreal, Winnipeg and Edmonton in the playoffs?
Edmonton is still a garbage team until they prove otherwise and there is no way both MTL & WPG make it in the East, I doubt even one of them can.
1) Vancouver (3rd West)
2) Ottawa (6th East)
3) Calgary (9th West)
4) Montreal (9th East)
5) Winnipeg (11th East)
6) Toronto (12th East)
7) Edmonton (14th West)

I'm kinda torn on whether EDM or MON get the 6th slot for me right at the moment. The thing about the 'Peg for me is that while their whole roster is pretty much "meh", it's not sorely deficient at any particular spot and there's some decent forward depth if you look past the fact that they have zero top-end talent.
Really, the sad part is that past Vancouver there is no team on this list you'd really count on to make the postseason. It's stunning how mediocre the Canadian teams are as a group these days.

It's a risky order that is for sure and after watching Price with his tweaked groin in the Montreal scrimmage it is probably already out to lunch.
Mostly I am putting Winnipegs success on Pavelec, I think he will be solid this year and they will go on a run. As for Edmonton well I just wanna live on the edge.

1) Vancouver - They don't look as overpowering as years past, but still a very good team
2) Calgary - This doesn't mean they're exceptional, its just that Canadian teams are great
3) Ottawa - I think they were Cinderella last year, a house of cards.
4) Winnipeg - I think they're a good young team but they're a year away
5) Toronto - I question their goaltending and I don't like their forwards much, their defense is expensive and I think a bit over rated.
6) Montreal - This team is a mess, if Subban misses time they're heading for the bottom. The saving grace for this team is goaltending and some good young players.
7) Edmonton - Too many holes to do much, The young players have to do more then just have fun, they have to develop all aspects of their game. I don't much like their bottom 6 forwards, their blue line is better with Fistric but still middle of the road. Not sold on Dubynk based on a hot streak. Its going to take time like the Flames for the new coach to figure things out.

Its pretty much a toss-up after VAN & OTT.
MTL could go anywhere from 3-7 IMO.. not because of how good they are, but because of how bad all the Canadian teams are after VAN/OTT.

Standings after February 14, 2013:
1. Vancouver (8-2-2)
2. Montreal (8-4-1)
3. Toronto (8-6-0)
4. Ottawa (7-5-2)
5. Edmonton (5-5-3)
6. Winnipeg (5-6-1)
7. Calgary (4-4-3)
The Canucks have been on fire this month, the Habs and Leafs continue to play well. After a slow start, the Flames have finally shifted gears, the Jets and Oilers continue to struggle, and Ottawa has fallen off the radar, since the injury to karlsson.

Swap those two... same points but the Flames have 1 more goal, better goal differential, and a game in hand (and they're listed as higher on NHL.com).

It won't matter. In about 2 weeks the Jets will be in the Flames vapor trail.

I'd call the Jet's 5-6-1 record sub .500.

I don't really consider them a Canadian team. They're still the Thrashers but with uglier jerseys.
