What a Saturday in the NHL with 3 games on HDIC and NHL Network USA. Okay, that Ducks-Blues game was just crazy. The Blues jump out to the 3-1 lead in the 1st, then midway in 2nd period the Ducks score 3 goals in just 101 seconds! The back and forth continues in the 3rd where it ends tied 5-5, Ducks win it 6-5 in the SO after 6 rounds. Totally agree with devo22, it was Miller Time and his teammates should supply him with post game beer for the rest of the season. Tavares hit the post on a penalty shot late in the 3rd. The Devils win 3-1 over the Penguins. Funny thing in this game was Brodeur going to retrieve his stick, Pittsburgh almost scored on the empty net. Brodeur did some funky tap dance skating. Same teams go at it on Sunday, this time in Pittsburgh. The Flyers win 4-3 in OT over the Hurricanes, Briere with the winner.

Talk about a horse penalty call in the Preds-Wild game. It was 1-1 after 2 periods and staying that way into OT. A faceoff in the Predators zone and the puck bounced off Gaustad's glove. The ref calls a minor penalty for a faceoff violation. A brutal call. Eventually, Setoguchi scores the winner on the PP, Wild win 2-1. The stupid Oilers can't score even strength as they get a goal on the PP and lose 2-1 in reg time to Detroit. Kronwall with the PP winner. Not bad for the Bulin wall in net. Now we're talking SHUTOUTS in 4 different games. The Price was definitely off and should have been pulled after the 4th goal, the Leafs humiliate the Habs 6-0. I thought Price was going to pull a Patrick Roy. Reimer gets the SHUTOUT. Al Montoya stops 33 shots as the Jets win 1-0 in reg time. Bishop faces 37 shots and takes the loss. Braden Holtby stops all 27 shots and gets an assist in the Capitals 5-0 win over the Panthers. The rare double shutout as both Smith and Niemi (who still gets the loss) each get credited with one in the Coyotes 1-0 SO win.

Selanne is the first over 40+ player to score 4 points in a game more than once, in 1 season.

How can it be construed as anything else?

Orr was already engaged and Bourque comes from behind and attempts to put him in a headlock , thats jumping someone in a textbook way. Bourque got what was coming. This is hockey, not ballroom dancing.

So are we just ignoring video evidence now?

Don't forget the 9 minute penalty Bourque took for jumping a guy and pummeling him.

He's no saint.

Maybe different understanding than you, to me jumping somebody is starting to fight someone who isn't ready, not literally jumping on their shoulders to try to pull them out of a fight. Bourque tried to separate Orr from that tiny euro guy who he just tried to knee on knee. At no point were any gloves dropped or punches thrown until Orr pulled a Carcillo.

Probably dumb to do it getting the gloves in the face of a knuckle dragger but if somebody "gets whats coming" out of it all Orr will have his knee blown out next game. He was gutless throughout and if he lands the knee on knee he attempted to throw he's suspended for at least 5.

He was trying to fight Brian Gionta, who had it coming for what he did last year. The 'tiny euro' Orr tried to deck was Plekanec, who jumped out of the way making it look like an attempted kneeing.

Watching the second GIF, it does seem a little cheap that he just decked Bourque, but certainly not suspension worthy. Bourque should know better anyways.
