Hope you're right. How would you compare him to players like Kolanos, Jaffray and Lundmark? We've seen guys come through before who look great in the AHL but could never seem to put it together in the big league.

Now that Babchuk is activated something has to give.

Sarich, Butler, Smith and Babchuk; 2 in the press box. I cant picture us riding 2 healthy D. If anything we have 1 scratched and if needed you call up someone.

Re: Backlund

Injuries happen. Timing sucks as the Backlund/Hudler/Cervenka line definitely had some good potential, but Backlund will be back -- it's not like he's done for the season. Just hope he gets back 100% and with fresh legs. If so, he could be a nice spark while the team continues to grind it out in the condensed schedule. Time for someone else to step up and fill the void. Backlund was one of those guys at the start of the year, which was a pleasant surprise. Now we need a new pleasant surprise. Maybe Cervenka settles in. Or Iginla catches fire. Or Glencross starts finishing. Just need to keep winning games and get into the playoffs. Then the real fun begins -- ask LA

Is it the same knee that he hurt during his draft season that put him down the rankings?

Man that blows for Backlund. He was having such a great start. Such an innocent looking play.

I agree with those concerned for Backlund. Sucks for him, hope it's not too great a setback as he was having a good season so far. Don't let it get you down, kid, get healthy!

Great news about Babchuk.

PP time!

Iggy-Tangs-Glencross
Wideman- Babchuk.

Glencross better get extra padding! Even if we don't score on the pp maybe we can injure a couple of dmen per game.

Could we see 7 D and 11F if Cammalleri is out?

Glencross - Tanguay - Iginla
Hudler - Stajan - Cervenka
Jones - Street - Stempniak
and 2 of Jackman/Comeau/Begin

Jones would add a physical element to that line with Street to cover his lack of physicality, and also, be able to cover defensively if Street is exposed by the jump in opposition. That way, Babchuk's minutes/matchups could be controlled (i.e. keep away from Sedins)

I would be surprised if both those guys were on the same PP unit, I would guess that they would want a cannon from the point on both units

Not sure i see Anton getting into the line up anytime soon. Butler has been fine playing with Smith. They are a little more moblie than Sarich and Anton. Sarich would probably come in for Butler before Anton because he can be a physical pressence and play PK. The flames PP right now is doing well. The PK is aweful.

...not enough Brodie.

Cervenka - Street - Hudler is the line by the looks of it.

4-6 weeks. Are you kidding me? Hopefully Baertschi will be back soon as we need him to help boost the skill level.

I'd still like to see Brodie on the #1 PP unit with Wideman, taking advantage of his skating to help gain the zone.

Put Babchuk on the #2 unit with Gio, and save Bouwmeester for even strength and PK.
