I was wondering about Backlund though. In his post game, Hartley wasn't sure if Backlund would be reevaluated in Vancouver or back home in Calgary. It suggested to me right away that Backlund's injury isn't of the "ice it and get back out there" variety.

Street has been one of the best players all season long in Abbotsford. Better than Horak IMO

Do they slot him on the fourth line and bump Jones up?

Pierre " Monster" McGuire seems to like his play a lot when talking about him in the "backburner thread". Would be nice if he could make a post on this thread about the pros and cons of Street. I take his word over anybody when it comes to heat players.

Random minor league free agent guy we signed last summer who played a couple years in the Pens system. One of those guys you expect can help the minor league team, and hope can become someone who can help the NHL team.

Heat haven't announced it... its just the AHL transactions page, probably automatically updates as soon as a team files the paperwork with the league.

Pros: He shoots ALOT. He leads the AHL in shots and he's a got wickedly accurate wrister. He's a strong dude for being a bit on the shorter side. He's fast. He can keep up with Byron any day of the week. Just a smart, calm, level-headed player. VERY good in the faceoff dot. Always finds open ice somehow.

Cons: Not great along the boards, but sufficient. Doesn't often drive to the net and is more of a perimeter shooter (his spot is about 6-10 feet from the net). Not a physical player by any means.

Such a good call-up. I hate to gloat, but I totally called it that we'd see him in a Flames jersey soon

Ben Street is a kid with a lot of skill, speed and tenacity. He is a goal scorer and signed with Calgary when he felt his chances of a centre spot with the Penguins were slim to none.
