Jeff: "Ugh, Dean, you smell like the floor of a movie theatre."
Dean: "Yeah, maybe, but not for the usual reasons this time."
Not a great episode but a few funny lines.

I should have known better.
I got back late from lectures, so I watch the late run. The show is moved because of a basketball game was delayed

You're not missing much. This is pretty grim.

What the **** was that...
They ruined it. It's NOTHING like it used to be. That was honestly the worst show I've ever watched.

I sure hope this is the exception.
They certainly didn't gain any new fans....

That was bad. The Britta/Troy thing seemed forced and weird. The Laugh track sequences were terrible... I hope this isn't what the whole season is going to be like.

I doubt it will....each episode seems to have its own "gimic"
I think the laugh track was just for the "Abed TV" gimic from this episode.
Glad this show is finally back!

I don't get it.
They took every little "trait" of Community, like Abed being weird, a parody or theme, the dean being odd/gay, and took it to levels that were just not funny. Way too over the top.
Like why did Britta and Troy fight? Why is Annie so weird?
Also, they changed the pacing. It felt like the episode went by really quick....
Going to go watch the paintball episode and have a stiff drink with the girlfriend to try and get over this. I'm serious.

That was bad, really bad. I was actually excited for the show to come back but if that is the level that it is going to be with painfully obvious jokes that bash you in the face with how simple they are, I really could take this off my must watch TV.

Absolutely terrible. I'll laugh at pretty much anything and in watching that episode I maybe managed a smirk once. Very disappointed.

It definitely felt like a sitcom.
God awful.
Hope it's just a bad episode.

The worst part is I think they tried to make a good Community episode. . . .

They where satirizing broad sitcoms, not becoming one.
30 Rock did the same thing in the final episode, with the shows that Kenneth was producing.

Well, found it.
Written as I was watching the episode:
- The "Community TV" component wasn't bad. It seems like an extended closing joke. At least, in its first level. Then it got weird.
- Definitely closer to a slapstick episode. Not really Community's strong suit.
- Overly long gags don't work. I think Family Guy proved it a while ago. I don't see why they decided to try it here.
- Characters feel a bit off. Almost feels intentional on some (Annie, who was just attempting to overdo...whatever it is she was trying to do...didn't catch that at the opening), others feel like they needed to make one up just so they still had a gimmick (Abed). Some just felt like wanted to have characters do something to pad the time (Britta, Troy).
- The show picks up to more like itself towards the very end. Too bad it was only 3-4 minutes in length.
It was a weak episode...probably the lowest I can remember since the Pilot (which seemed to be more of a conceptual thing than an actual episode), though I'd argue that's a testament to the quality of the series as a whole that it has been so consistent. Community is driven by meta humour and its seeming inability to ignore use of tropes and point their own use of it. I think with the loss of their TVtropes dweller, the latter will go unfortunately. Time will tell if the meta humour comes back instead of just arbitrary cultural references...well, at least that didn't change.
I have a bit of faith in the writing group though - it didn't seem like the online videos lost any steam from how it was before. Not to mention the end of the episode actually seemed like an actual Community story. Hopefully it was more early writing jitters than anything else. Or just some convoluted attack against sitcom plots.

Don't know how to describe it. It was just... too much. Community usually balances blatant with subtle. This episode just punched me in the face with ridiculous.
Wasn't into it. I hope next week is better.

Overall, I liked it. Not sure why all the hate? A few awkward scenes, I mean it wasn't the best. But there were far worse episodes in seasons 2 and 3 then this one.

The only time I chuckled/laughed was some of Chevy's bits and some of Donald Glover's bits. All of which were funny because of them, not the written joke itself; if you know what I mean.
This episode was by far the worst episode of Community.
Also, what the hell was all the relationship stuff? Britta and Troy, Annie's love afair, the Dean being a complete fruit. Why not make it more obvious?

Pierce summed it up the best; "what the hell did we just do?"
I thought it was an alright episode but it was way too busy. Too many story lines being crammed into 22 minutes, which made it feel rushed. The lack of the study room table stuck out to me as odd.
