Default World Golf Tour - Online game

http://www.wgt.com/

Does anyone here play this? Ive found its pretty decent and seems to work very well for an online Golf sim.

Tips and tricks?

Maybe we can get a CP Tourney going for those who play....even though Im just a rookie.

I enjoy PC golf games, and I'm definitely not against F2Ps, but why are there no videos, screenshots or other media on the website to see what the game is like?

Because a video of golf is like this video:

I actually signed up for this site a while back and go back every year or so. At that point I realize that playing golf on the computer really isn't all that exciting.

I played it a year ago or so.

It is decent but you do need to play a fair bit to build up points to upgrade your gear which allows you to hit further, more accurately etc.

The revenue model is you can buy credits for upgrades, plus the equipment you upgrade to are Nike or Adams or whatever so the company gets promotional fees.

Interestingly - if you "purchase" upgraded golf balls, they are a consumable like real ones. You buy a sleeve of something, if you put them in the water they are gone; purchase some more or go back to the basic golf ball.

yeah Im aware that they want you to spend to be a "master" golfer, but Ive had no issue hitting a round at 3 or 4 over and/or par on a 9 holer with the clubs they provide.
I have no interest in swelling their pockets, just thought for a computer game it actually worked well and seemed more realistic than most.

Absolutely - for a free game it is very well done.

After reading this thread I made the mistake of downloading it for iPad. I dare you to try it, haha. I guess I should have tried the PC version.
