If you didn't find that game entertaining, I can't fathom why you watch hockey.

There were strippers at the game? Tired strippers?

I said before that I won't throw this team under the bus or put them on a pedestal until I see where they are at after 10 games, but so far, I see a team that is very much improved from the last 3 years, and losing these games early are all about living through growing pains and working their way through this process. 6 games do not make a season. If we get to 10 games and we still only have 1 regulation win, then yes, everyone will be very concerned and for good reason. Just stay sane until we get a large enough sample size that we can objectively evaluate this team. While you're at it, it's much more fun to be an optimist than a pessimist.
I'm not going to renew my optimism just because the team signs some mid-level free agents and gets a new coach. My assessment of the team is based on the last 300 games, not the last 6. Personally, I don't believe they'll turn things around until they draft a new, elite core. I'll be happy to be wrong, but the proof is in the pudding. In this case, 6 or 7 games above .500 would be acceptable proof.

3 hockey teams in 4 nights? You'd be tired too.

The season just started. Nobody is tired.

The only advantage some teams have over others is a lack of rust.

I seem to remember Emery doing this to the Flames one other time a couple of years ago.

Glencross must've pissed off the hockey gods somehow recently.

I honestly think this team is trending up. A lot has been made about how the team should have dominated Colorado and Chicago because they were rested and the opposition was tired. The break was really a disadvantage for the Flames. What they really need is to be playing games every other day, getting into a groove, figuring out the ideal lines, guys getting an understanding of where they should be on the ice.

Most importantly Kipper needs more playing time. He didn't play during the lockout and needs to get acclimated again. The Colorado game was a disaster for him but in the Chicago game he didn't really have a chance on either goal, and looked steady throughout. The Flames will start finding ways to bury those chances and putting games away. Iggy has been playing well in spite of not having scored yet. You can tell he's on the cusp of going on one of his patented month long tears.

The only player I'm really worried about is Cammalleri. He hasn't been scoring and hasn't look engaged in the play. He seems a little gun-shy, like he's afraid of getting hurt again which given his last couple seasons is understandable but he needs to get past that. He has to be willing to get into the tough areas and battle through coverage to be successful.

Is this a joke with context in the thread im missing? Because thats a pretty demonstrably wrong opinion just by looking at pretty much any teams back to back and opponent back to back records in any season

As the season goes on, yeah, it makes a difference.

But professional athletes should not be tired two weeks into a season after an 8 month off-season.

I guess they may as well open the season with four games in four nights.

I think it is debatable they outplayed Vancouver and Colorado but even if you give them the outplayed the other team in 4 out of 6 they have played poorly in 4 out of 6 games which is more meaningful and a bigger concern for the team going forward.

They haven't really been outplayed yet this year imo.

They were definitely outplayed in the Sharks and Anaheim games in my view.

Do you get tired if you didn't sleep the night before?

I mean, you slept for thousands, maybe even tens of thousands of hours prior to that. Surely one night of missed sleep wouldn't result in fatigue?
