Been to dozens of games in Calgary and Edmonton the past few years and this is utter bullcrap. When you're a 30th place team most fans have left by the middle of the 3rd.

Right, you're just an Oiler fan, admit it.

Yakupov’s celebration was spontaneous. It’s not in his bag of tricks. He said it was the first time he’d done it.
“It just came to me. I didn’t understand what happened. I thought ‘what am I doing?’ ” he said.
“I didn’t hear anybody because the fans were crazy.” "
The Oilers just got a goal called back in the last minute of play. The emotions of the place was spontaneous and raucous like a roller coaster-it was deafening. Then suddenly Yakupov ties it with less than 5 seconds left and the place erupts like a playoff hockey atmosphere. Give me a break.
The 18 year old kid was on cloud 9 and acting on raw emotion and adenaline which was like the Rexall atmosphere. Isn't this what hockey is all about-fun and exciting? He is a passionate hockey player who plays with his heart on his sleeve.
I say relax your sphincter, you don't always have to walk around with a tight gazoo...

Verve, I love how you come on this board, preach this kind of crap and continue to troll over and over again. But when someone makes some kind of comment at HFBoards you go crying to the mods and have that person banned. Can dish it out but can't take it huh? I guess you'd have to adopt that philosophy cheering for a bottom feeder for the last 3 years.

It's the biggest goal so far of his 3 game career. I am sure anybody who has the chance to score the game tying goal in the dying seconds of the 3rd period would probably celebrate to some extent, maybe not as excessive as Yakupovs but close.
And there's probably gonna be many more of those to come which I can't wait to see. He sure is one hell of a player to watch, that's the kind of emotion we need to see this season after the long dreaded lockout. It gets the fans pumped up and forget about what happened a couple months ago.
All I can say is, I am glad hockey is back. I miss these kinda celebrations.

Not a great day to be a Flames fan. The top Flames prospect looks like he sits out tomorrow while the hated Oilers' young guys are instrumental in their wins.

I'm pretty traditional when it comes to celebrating, however I thought the Yakupov celebration was kind of warranted with the way the game went. You had to watch the whole game to appreciate the emotion of the game.
I thought it was a bit much when he laid face on the ice though after the slide, lol.

Few of the biggest goals in recent seasons
Crosby's golden goal in the Olympics: jumps against the glass and waits for his teammates to mug him.
Henrique's OT winner in 2OT of game 6 of ECF sending NJ to finals: almost same reaction as Crosby's.
Burrows game 7 quarterfinal winner: jumped and immediately slid into the boards while teammates pile on.
Patrick Kane: game 6 Stanley Cup winning OT goal: very similar to Yakupovs, however just a slightly more important goal.
Gaborik: 3OT winner last years playoff (his 1st career OT playoff winner): jumps up and down, hugs teammates.
See, it is possible to celebrate a big goal without the d-bag antics.

Wow, yeah that was WAY over the top. The face down bit at the end was really pathetic.
I hope every goal the Flames score on Saturday (if they are fortunate enough to score a goal) ends with a Yakupov celebration.
That would be awesome.
Hope Sarich didn't like the celebration and meets Nail in the corner on Saturday.
BOOM goes the dynamite.

To show the Oilers and their fans how "awesome" it really is to be complete goofs, yup.

Yeah, I could understand Regehr in his prime, even Giordano now. That man was very scary and he played top pair minutes while punishing soft players. Sarich is a bottom pair guy, I don't think he'll put much fear into anyone. He's like Fistric imo.

Yeah, my issue with it, is that he pretty much skates away from team mates wanting all the attention for himself. I don't care, go nuts if you score a goal, especially if it's a meaningful goal. But to skate out by yourself and make sure it's you and only you in the spotlight..I don't know, makes me think that over the long term he may be a great individual player, but a not a great team player.

So when a young rookie does it at home spontaneously out of excitement its bad, but when an entire veteran team conspires to do it out of spite focused on the opposing team its good?
You have interesting view of class.

You have your curlers on too tight. You have no clue about what went on with HF Oil unless you were that idiot who impersonated me. He claimed to be me when I asked him if he was the same VERVE on CP. Then he pretended to be an Oilers fan but saying anti-Oil statements. FYI, the mods found out he was a previously banned user and now is banned again. Mmm...are you that banned user from HF Oil? I mean who else would have privy to that info unless you were banned and now you are pissed. If it was you (which I have a strong feeling it is), you are a BIG loser...
This may seemed difficult for you to comprehend, but next time get your facts straight before calling someone out...

If all shots were equal then sv% alone would be directly correlated to play but since they are not watching the acutal play tells you a lot more about a guy then stats alone.
Unfortunately due to my job taking me out of town a lot I watched a lot of Dubnyk play last season and he was not average and definitely not above average.

He pretty much ended Hall's season with the hit...was in a pretty good loop on the sports desks for a couple days.
