i still think the Pats will be back, they have drafted well lately. I think their defense has certainly improved from a year ago and with a healthy Gronk/Hernandez and a running game. they still have a lot of pieces... not to mention a weak division. Baltimore has gotten hot at the right time..

They also need to try and avoid playing the Giants and Ravens, the only two teams who seemingly have their number at any time in the season. They probably would have beat the Broncos.

It's likely the end for Tony Gonzalez today. I think he's the example that young players should look at when determining how to carry themselves. Ray Lewis gets the attention with his theateics, and god talk. Gonzalez was a consumate pro who much like Gary Roberts kept himself in fantastic shape thru work and disciplined nutrition, and let his on field work talk. He was arguably as good in his last yer as he was in any other. Too bad his teams choked. Can't put today on him.

I was pretty upset by the Falcons loss today, but I wouldn't say either team deserved to win.

Kaepernick was for the most part ineffective besides his one TD toss. Ryan had two turnovers, but other than that looked good distributing the ball to Jones, White and Tony G.

Niners defense was... well, the Niners defense. The Falcons defense was... the Falcons defense.

I'm proud of what the Falcons did this season and I look forward to hopefully seeing them in the playoffs next year. They're still a young team with most of their players in their prime. I just hope Dimitrov (sp?) fixes the issues of defense.

It's been fun watching Gonzalez for the last several years. He truly is a role model on and off the field. Just a great human being. The Jarome Iginla of the NFL.

Good luck next season Falcons. Good luck in the future Tony G.

P.S., Go Niners!

Gonzalez is a class player and he is leaving the game while still a great player. i dont care for Atlanta but he has been elite for so long... those tight end records will not fall for some time

I'm just surpised Moon hasn't blames the ref for Baltimores win yet

Good on Flacco for AGAIN winning a big game.

Wes Welker is becoming the big drop king. Great regular season reciever, but talk about a big game choke.

Why are the Pats so scares of the Ravens! Oh well. Perfect no Manning no Brady superbowl!

I'm so jacked the Ravens got in the superbowl. A buddy from high school plays for them. He is an awesome dude and I think its sweet that he gets to experience playing in a Super Bowl.

Why would I?

They didn't cause the win or play a role in it.

Obviously it was a bit of a poke after last weeks game and comments going both ways!

As a Ravens fan its nice to have a QB who isn't over the hill and can play in cold weather

Fair enough. Last week I think refs played a big part, this week Ravens played much better. I hate the team but they deserved the win today.

Seeing how there is only one player from Oklahoma on the Ravens roster it has to be Billy Bajema? How can you be friends with someone who played for the Cowboys program if your a Sooner fan?

Wes Welker is a free agent now and there is speculation that he might have just played his last game as a Patriot. He is a big weapon for NE. He had 2 critical drops in the playoffs. One in the Superbowl vs the Giants and today. He's still a good reciever though. Him leaving NE would hurt them.

I find it odd that people I talk to and some people on CP dislike the Falcons so much.

That's like disliking the Carolina Hurricanes or something. They're there, they don't hurt anyone, they're not cocky, they're just there haha.

Everyone hates teams from Atlanta, until they move to Canada.

It's because we have so many Saints fans on here. I dislike them because Matt Ryan killed me in fantasy this season

Yeah my Falcon disdain is divisional rival based. Nothing personal, just football.

Between re-reading some of the comments in this thread after last week's surprising Broncos loss and remembering what the media said about it, I find it interesting how Manning's "all-time QB list" status has been under fire (perhaps rightly so) for his teams' playoff performances, yet Brady somehow escapes this.

I know the guy has 3 titles, but they all came at the start of his career, and after yesterday, we're getting to almost a full decade with no ring. And that's during his prime years with his best stats, which included some excellent Pats teams. The last 4 straight playoff losses for them, they were favoured to win, including the '07 & '11 Super Bowls.

Of course he belongs on the all-time QB's list, you could certainly make the argument he's been better than Manning over their careers. I just don't think its as slam dunk as many made it sound last week. Since '04 Brady's had his fair share of playoff disappointment too..

This was brought up on a podcast recently. The argument that they came first is ridiculous. Is John Elway a better QB because he won at the end of his career instead of the beginning? Elway went 13 years without winning a title.
