This Is A Very Strange Feeling
So I can't sleep... I'm practically bouncing off the walls. I have the last thing I'll ever be evaluated on in my academic career ahead of me tomorrow. It's a presentation on my practicum work this past semester. I'm not worried about it, I've been public speaking since elementary school... however I'm litterally coasting into graduation, and I dunno I've got this excited/concerned/ahhhh feeling. I dunno if I'm happy or sad, it's weird.
I'm wondering if anyone else is almost done, and those who have finished in the past how was the feeling leading up to graduation? I went pretty much straight through from Grade Primary (or Kindergarden depending on what you want to call it) straight through to the end of my Masters Degree.
It's going to be a change, but change is good right?
I guess I'm just ranting as I'm wide awake, really should get some sleep but can't. Tomorrow it's over, wow, where'd the time go, haha.

I know how you feel buddy...
I finish university in 25 days...
And I've lost ALL motivation.
Granted after finals I will still be on campus for working and for studying.

I had absolutely no motivation through my last semester. Came close to failing a course, too.
It's weird, though. Every year around the end of August I get completely sick of my job and long for school again. It's like my body is telling me it's time to pack up the office and head back to school. I guess it'll take more than 5 years to get rid of that impulse created by 17 summer holidays.

I am in the same boat. I had a presentation last week. I have one major assignment left to hand in in a week and then next months exams and then I have my journalism degree. For me though, it feels like the time is barely moving. Just gotta hang in there I suppose.

Silly me, I had to go through summer classes before I was done. You should have seen me the day of my final though...I've never bounced so much around the University.
It's one of the best feelings in the world to be done with everything. Getting my Iron Ring is still the best though.

I'm 2 weeks away from being done....
for the 2nd time...10 years after the first.
So you never know - you might find yourself back in school at some point down the road.
Its also way more fun the 2nd time round.

After getting only 4 hour sleep because I just can't stay in bed, I went through my presentation again.
I end with a slide stating it's the end of my academic career with "Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye" playing in the background. I always try and throw some humour into presentations and class, just to keep things from being insanely boring, and with 3 hours of presentations today, I'm the last one, a little laugh to end will be good.
I don't have exams, and scheduled it so I only had my practicum and an ethics class this semester. So it's been fairly smooth sailing, while still having some really intense weeks.
Motivation hasn't really been a problem as my practicum is for outside the school as well. But I've had motivation problems in the past, like last semester writing papers saying "I know what I'm talking about, the prof knows it, so why am I writings this F^&* PAPER?!"
I'm not ruling out school in the future, in fact I should be able to get alot of my current courses tranfered over to an MBA if I'm so inclined. But essentially that'd be part time, as full time studies go, this should be it.
On a side note, Eastern Girl, with your Journalism Degree will you be writing for CP now?

I'd argue you should go to Journalism school and get paid
CP is swimming with money right?

i'm also one semester away from graduating, and, in that semester, i only have my practicum and a creative writing class left to take. i'm coasting and i've got another semester ahead of me.
journalism degrees are spectacular, btw. i now get PAID to write about SPORTS, which is a pretty sweet deal

Oh man, the lack of motivation is kicking me in the ass right now. Wanting to make sure I pass everything while being forced to work full time, I've only been taking 3 or 4 courses a semester for the past SIX YEARS!!! OMFG am I ever ready to be done. However, I have 3 papers due in the next two weeks and a total of 0 pages written. Perhaps I should get on that....

It took me a few years to get over the 'weird feelings' around the times when exams were held. And then I got a job at a business in income tax, so for a decade April = Hell for me.

Well, I think it might be hard to write about games that I don't get to see, so Kermitology, your volunteer position is safe!
And Good luck with your presentation MQS.

I concur. The 2nd time around is so much better. I had a better appreciation as to why I was there and I knew what to expect and how to make the most out of my time, both academically and leisurely.
It also helped that I was knew what I wanted to do with myself and took the right program.

4 years out (holy crap that long already) and I tend to miss the uni. years, more specifically the afternoon naps. What I find funny is that I actually find myself having to do more studying for certifications, product updates, etc. then I ever did in University.
I wish I could go back sometimes but then again I like always having money

Yeah, that's a good point. I am more than ready to let go of the student lifestyle. I want to be able to afford Centre Ice, for the love of God!
