Nothing weird about loving Seikos....I always maintain that they are the best bang for your buck watch company. You have a very nice collection there. The JDM Seikos are definitely a level up from what we get here....which makes shopping for them in NA a little hard if you want the good stuff.

The SRP229 in the middle is a JDM I believe, at least it is not available in the NA catalogue. And I have a SKX007J1 ordered which is a JDM, and plan to make it my daily. Such a classic 70/80's diver.
However, my dream Seiko is this one. I really hope Seiko gets the message and does a re-issue of the H558 Arnie Seiko. This watch starred in Commando and Predator, and I believe James Bond even wore it in one film as well:

If you are talking about the Grand Seiko's, yeah those things are crazy. Smoothest auto movement ever. They run at something ridiculous like 50,000 bpm, basically a perfect sweep. But I will be honest. Vanity would get the best of me, and I would be looking at a Sea Master for the same $7-8000 price tag.

Not just Grand Seikos (although those are totally awesome), there are ton of watches that only ever see the Asian market.
Btw, you definitely don't have to pay 7-8k for a Seamaster....especially if you don't go with one of the new 8500 movements (many of which I think have less elegant faces than the older 2500). You can get a nice new PO in the 3-4k range. If you're ever in the market, I suggest delving into watchuseek.com for a while, and get yourself acquainted with a dealer who will knock about 30% off the retail price.
If you're willing to buy used (and you should be, these watches are built well), you can get a very nice version in the 1500-2500 range.

It isn't a great movement. When I first got it, I wore it for a few days and it was off by minutes. But it is a fun watch to wear. As long as I set it every day I wear it, it is fine. Watchismo had a sale, so it was about 40% off of MSRP. I wouldn't be surprised if you could find it even cheaper.

While visiting my parents in Winnipeg, I found my first ever automatic watch while helping them sort through some old drawers. I used to wear this one from when I was in elementary school (like grade 2 or 3) until half-way through junior high.

I'm not really sure it would be worth it for anything more than sentimental value.
At the minimum, it'd need a service on the movement, new crystal and retaining ring, refinishing on the case and bracelet and a new crown (this one is slightly bent).

Loved my skagen... looked like this. Set it down at a party in a hotel room during a trip to Boston. The girl who grabbed it lives in NYC, so I never got it back. Sister of a current NHLer, too!
I suppose the story is almost worth losing it, but damn I loved that watch. They have some nice designs.

Currently drooling over this:
http://www.citizenwatch.com/en-ca/wa...del=AT8014-57E
and trying to find it online for cheaper than the MSRP, but I believe it just came out not long ago so I may have to be patient.
This will probably be my first nice watch ever.

The watch I'm looking at is on a variety of ebay stores with respected sellers that have high positive feedback numbering in the thousands and they guarantee:
"Our Products are %100 brand new and %100 Authentic. This watch will ship with original Citizen box, warranty card and instructions manual."
It's significantly cheaper than amazon was offering... but I'm always skeptical of "100% authentic ebay ads". Anyone have experiences on ebay? Am I stupid for even considering it?

Don't have any personal experience with ebay watch retailers, but if you check the watchuseek forums they've likely been discussed on there.
Those people seem to have a great grasp on all things watch, and will likely have a thread on the specific seller you've looking at.

Just a heads up for anyone else:
http://www.dutyfreeislandshop.com/Default.asp
Has been vouched for by multiple people on watchuseek forums. 100% authentic (warranty card included) and really fast shipping.
Probably the best prices you'll find on certain brands too.

Protip:
I have a few brushed stainless watches that had some good scuffs on the bands and clasps. One of the guys I work with is hardcore watch guy, and he told me to buy one of these nail buffers:
5 bucks at Walmart. A couple straight steady swipes on the rough side (Which seems like it is about 400-600 grit) A couple straight steady swiped on the buffing side, and the marks go away like magic. As long as you are careful, and stay with the grain, it is literally a new finish again. A lot of guys use scotchbrite, but the brush marks they leave are erratic and too course. This is a way better solution.
