Not even U.S. green card can lure investors to Coyotes
The clock is ticking for the Coyotes as Jamison only has until Jan. 31 and if he can't get the deal done before then, the new Glendale council is no longer in favour of the agreement.
This is all part of the plan. No sale by Jan 31st. Jamison claims some investors have backed out and sale can't close. Jamison and NHL ask Glendale for an extension. PHX plays out portion of shortened season. At 1/2 point NHL says deal in jeopardy, will cover costs of remainder of the season and continue to find a deal. Season ends, PHX sold and moved to Quebec City. Thanks for the good times Glendale.

He should have gone to Russia right off the bat... word on the street is that a number of russian billionaires can't wait to get into the business of the NHL!

Even if council did, I doubt the NHL would. The league has had time to let this develop naturally because the city was paying nearly all of the losses. Now that the governors are back on the hook, they won't let it fester. I would say chances are they already know where the team is relocating to if Jamison is unable to complete the deal, though we will hear nothing of this from official sources until June.
Prospective Phoenix Coyotes buyer Greg Jamison is still trying to secure late financing and money in order to finalize his purchase of the hockey team by the end of the month.
“He is still looking to finalize the deal before the end of the month,” said Max Fose, CEO of Phoenix-based Integrated Web Strategy. Fose’s communications firm has been helping Jamison with this Coyotes effort.
