It was a season long loan but they could recall him in January if they want

Any idea if they want to?
Seems to be doing well for WBA.
Also since you seem to be much more plugged into Spurs than I am any idea what happens with them in January?

Moutinho! Actually I would just like to see som LB depth added. Naughton has looked uncomfortable when he's been forced to play on the left side.

Christian Eriksen (I have seen a lot of people say this happens but more likely in the summer)
Moutinho (think chance was missed in the summer)
I think Eriksen is going to be better than Modric, and would be perfect for AVB's 4-3-3 with Sandro/Dembele
Willian (if it happens it's in the summer)
Zaha (supposedly co-favorites with Arsenal for him, but this definitely won't happen until the summer because he's Palace's best player and they are 2nd in the championship)
Sturridge and Damaio, I think if Sturridge to Liverpool doesn't happen it could, Chelsea would rather sell to them than Spurs. He was great under AVB. Damaio is flirting with Europe again and will always be linked
Also for a defender, the new Vertonghen basically from Ajax, he's belgian and he's been their best player this year (Toby Alderweireld), wants to join Spurs or Arsenal
Quote:
“Ajax is a very nice club. It won't be hard to play here all my life - but if I had to choose it have to be a nice club like Ajax again and there aren't many of them,” he is quoted as saying to Dutch media.
“But a club such as Arsenal or Tottenham. They are fantastic clubs and would be a step forward.”
|
My guess is Eriksen, Sturridge, and an unknown smaller signing for depth
I think the first is optimistic for January, but I really think he does join in the next 10 months

I think they should just call back Danny Rose from loan Sunderland and I like BAE but I would give Rose a run as first choice
Their fans say he's been their best player this season and O'Neill has said a few times he wants to sign up long term

The only thing with Eriksen is that he has said he prefers a move to Spain. Obviously there needs to be interest in him for that to happen, but if one of the big Spanish clubs come calling then you would have to think he would choose to go to them.

He seems to be smart about it though, he turned down a move to Barca 2 years ago because he knew he wouldn't get playing time
If he went there now it would be the same thing, I don't think he goes unless he's at the level of the best midfielders in the world starting every week which if it ever happens is years away

Chelsea's decision not to sign Eriksen was influenced by the fact that they already had Josh McEachran, who played in a similar position and was a year younger. Fast forward five years and McEachran has made one Premier League start for Chelsea and is on loan at Middlesbrough. Eriksen has played 136 times for Ajax. "Exactly," Eriksen says. "Of course it's a different league. And a lot of players in England, when they are with big clubs, they go out on loan. That hasn't ever really been spoken about here because I played. For me, I am at the right place at the right time."
It is difficult to think of a better club than Ajax for a gifted youngster, which is why it is easy to understand Eriksen's decision to reject interest from Manchester City 18 months ago. "Again, it was the feeling to get to a big club where they buy some new players every six months. Then, probably, if you didn't do well in the beginning, you would go out on loan. I wouldn't like that. For me, it was just about wanting to play. At that point I was just 19 years old, so I had no hurry."

But Chelsea's interim boss Benitez said: 'We know Romelu has been doing very well for West Brom.
'But it's maybe best for him to stay there where he is playing games for now, as it will be better for his future development.

Which makes no sense, because he's been better than Torres this year
He is going to be an absolute beast, he's Drogba but faster, and he's going to mature at something around 22-23 whereas it took Drogba until he was 28
I hope when they get Falcao he gets sold cheap to someone else

Nothing like the threat of getting your ass booted out the door to motivate.

Liverpool Echo is saying that Daniel Sturridge has a medical tomorrow for Liverpool. It would be nice to actually get some transfers done early in the window for a change. I hope this is true, I think he can help us out quite a bit.

If ever there was evidence that Scholes should be put out to pasture it was today. He's just too slow ..... even for ten minutes. Frustrating but entertaining draw. Rooney was off his game, Evans looked drunk, Young and Valencia totally ineffective. Having said that Swansea fought hard for their point and Michu is without doubt the buy of the season.
Honoury mention to the blatant penalty Reading were denied yesterday against city because ... you know .... it's not United.
And finally, I suppose the story of the weekend has to be Downing telling everyone to shut it after his goal. Yup, he really showed everyone.
In front of the home fans no less. You tell them Stewart.

I have to thank you.
Downing telling others to 'shut up?'
How many quid were paid for that goal Stewart?
