Default Connecticut School Shooting

Sad days

Shooting at an elementary school... I find this especially saddening due to this occurring in an elementary school classroom, as well as on the coattails of the mall shooting the other day.

http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/12/14...ool/?hpt=hp_t1

EDIT: It's now being reported that 27 are dead, which includes 18 children

I'm starting to get the feeling that maybe guns do kill people.

Just posted this in the Oregon shooting thread, but local news agencies are reporting shots were fired in a Kindergarten class and there are children among the dead. http://www.courant.com/news/breaking...,3969911.story

I was gonna make a glib comment, but this is sad and getting out of hand.

That's absolutely heartbreaking. A Kindergarten classroom had to witness this. Ridiculous.

According to that article, more than a dozen people, including children, were killed.

Guns are just too easy to buy - I don't think they should be banned per say. But it should be a struggle to purchase one. Something that most people who aren't hunters say 'this just isn't worth it'

I've confirmed that some of my former co-workers had children in that school, but I don't know if they're among the victims. I doubt that they know yet either. Sickening.

Schools should have armed guards. I don't love the idea, but these stories are beyond ridiculous and hopefully that would at least discourage some of these heinous acts.

Seems that the details are still sketchy as to the number of people wounded - lets us hope that it is not as high as reported above.

still a sad story........not something that school children need to be exposed to.

It's funny you should say that. My buddy and his wife are visiting from South Africa. She can not believe there are no guards at schools and that they are not fenced.

It will be a sad day when we need armed guards at schools.

Perhaps the better option for America is gun control.

Apparently the shooter was the father of one of the students.

I totally agree, but it doesn't feel like over-reaction when you see 27 people are dead and its a kindergarten classroom. I mean how many years did we have to take our shoes off to get on an airplane because of one failed attempt?

This is awful. CNN reporting that at least 10 of the dead are children. Sometimes, I can't wrap my mind around the evil that lives in some humans.
