Ford Recall of 2013 Escape and Fusion with 1.6L Ecoboost

			Link to Recall Info
Is this effecting anyone else? My wife and I bought our Escape 45 days ago, it has like 3500 km on it. I called last night to get a issue with our gas gauge fixed and they told me to stop driving it and bring it in immediately. Kinda pissed me off if it was that serious that maybe Ford or the dealer should have called!

I'm liking this car a lot, but they've pulled all of these engines off the road in north america!

On a side note I wanted the CrossTrek XV... my wife wanted the Escape.. I lost Now I can say again that I wanted a different car LOL

yes, but does the "kick the back door" feature still work?
I have an older Escape, my second Escape. Love it.

I just purchased an Escape with the 2.0L Ecoboost with full knowledge of this. Made no difference on my purchase. Really pleased with the vehicle.

But that doesn't even make sense (unless I'm just not reading it right).

It's in the way you say it, I guess.

"What's the deal here?"

"It's a fix or repair, deal."

I don't know. I think Rathji has it right. |

Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.

Unfortunately, that's pretty much how it goes when it's not Federally mandated.

I bought the 2013 Escape on Nov. 4th and it was recalled by my dealer just over a week ago. The service lady I was dealing with has said that it could take over a month for the problem to be repaired if it involves a part needing to be tested, manufactured & delivered altho apparently they are thinking it could be solved by programming a lower fuel pressure. That could lead to a faster resolution but is still not likely to happen ahead of Christmas.

A good reason to always skip the first year of a new model.
