They don't live indefinitely, the "researcher" in Woodbury said they starve but at much slower rate than the living do. Besides, they are zombies with probably the most basic of needs or instincts. Eating be very basic.
The walker that ate Lori was definitely sated by that meal and was pretty lethargic, just leaning against the wall with his belt undone.
Wonder WHO was in that bucket when that henchman caught Michonne.

In terms of subject matter and violence, it's pretty clear from these shows that anything goes.

No F bombs, but AMC clearly has a "one 's' word per episode" rule. It's humorous to watch any of the AMC shows to listen for the one time each episode that someone says the S-word. I think they may have amended the rule recently to allow it a couple of times per episode (or they might allow BS once and S once), but it's still not frequent.

Well considering Nicotero on the Talking Dead said unequivocably she was dead, that seems to be causing a certain amount of confusion....

Maybe the mid season finale will have Carol come out of the prison as a walker just like Sophia and Darryl will shoot her in the head.

Exactly. Although I kinda got the impression that was something he wasn't supposed to say.

I just rewatched it.
Nicotero only talks about Daryl reacting to the deaths and putting the flower on Carol's grave. It could just be that the survivors think Carol is dead, not that she actually is or isn't.
If we've learned anything, if there isn't a body found don't assume the person is dead.

Thought that episode was pretty pointless. Basically transitional.

Well they can't all be as action packed as episode 4...you gotta have some quieter times to be able to absorb what happened earlier and to get ready for the next craziness that's coming down the zombie apocalypse pipe!

Maybe the point of the episode was to be transitional?

According to wikipedia , there are 16 episodes this season. As we are essentially at the 1/3 part of the season, I expect this next episode to be huge.. to properly set up the events I imagine a transitional episode was necessary. I can appreciate this and will be very patient.
Also interesting from that page.. the viewers for the season premiere have more than doubled from season 1.
5.35 million to 10.87 million..this isn't a huge shock given the success of the show, but speaks well to future seasons and the growth of the budget.

It felt like a transitional episode, but not at all pointless.
New things as of last episode:
- Rick's madness (and the phone call!)
- establishing how Axel and Oscar (? is that right?) become integrated into the group
- zombie cage fighting! awesome insight into how Woodbury might not be everything it appears to be from the inside
- Michonne leaving... which will probably set up some awesome conflict in the coming episodes
Transitional? Of course. Pointless? Hardly!

I sort of feel that Merle should have used the opportunity of Michonne leaving to follow her out and look for Daryl.
