Scoring Winger

Two home losses have been gut wrenching, depressing games. Raptors blew leads in both of them and had absolutely god awful last possessions.

I'm flogging a dead horse, but two things with Bargnani that are absolutely killing the Raps - lethargic, whimpy defence and butterfingers on rebounding (has he ever swallowed a contested rebound or does he always attempt to swat it out?). I'm so frustrated with the guy, it hurts. IMO his plays single handedly cost the Raps a chance from securing the win tonight.

Raptors are a better team then their record indicates by far but they've dug themselves a hole they can't get out of and it's 7 games into the season. Sigh

He has talent that is for sure but he seems to be destined to be a top gun on a bottom 10 team or the 4th guy on a good team.
If left to score and take advantage of mismatches against 3/4's offensively while other guys do the dirty work he would be great but if he is relied on to score in the clutch and make tough plays it just isn't there.

I believe in the Jays.

And once again my early season optimism is killed off in 10 games or less.

Well, despite the loss, DeRozan played fantastic and could not have done a thing more tonight. He was screwed left, right and centre by the refs and kept going hard. I really hope this is the new DeRozan we're seeing, because this was exactly what we've been missing on the team.

Consistancy has been the issue for Derozan so it will be interesting to see if he can keep it up.
He has been pretty good scoring but that has never been the issue with him will be nice to see if he can be more efficient scoring and play at least passable defense. If he can manage that and keep up his scoring his contract may not be the terrible deal that it looks like right now.

Bargiani's efficiency has been pretty bad so far this season. 38% field goal percentage. Couldn't watch the game but it sucks we lost after blowing the lead in the 4th quarter. Derozan had a great night though.

I think it was Chisholm on tsn who suggested Bargniani and Calderon for gasol. I can actually see that one happening with Bargniani being the second unit scorer in la. Calderon in a good shooting backup for Nash .
Gasol would be great for the raptors as well.

That seems like a great deal for the Raptors not sure why the Lakers would do it though.
Seems like a downgrade in a year they are going for it. Maybe if it was in the offseason and it was a bad season for the lakers but even then Gasol doesn't seem to be the odd man out. He seems to be the guy that fits best with Nash.

Lakers need to add some depth for their bench I suppose.
I'm just tired of bargniani's lack of effort and offensive strategy of shooting long 2s when even slight defense is applied to him.

I don't know, I'm not sure that trade moves the Raptors forward. They're giving away their most valuable trade assets without addressing what we all know is the biggest weakness on the team (SF). They're giving up, in Calderon, the only thing that makes their second unit remotely useful... the second unit with Lucas at PG is unspeakably inept offensively. Gasol would be a great upgrade on Bargnani, no question, but it puts them in a bit of a cap bind: they lose all their flexibility this coming season, and then they'll have a desperation situation in 2014 with their two best players (Gasol and Lowry) hitting free agency at the same time.

Damn, already a few upsetting losses that could have easily gone the other way.

Its good that they have the lead now but this team still takes so many stupid shots (yes I am looking at you Bargnani).
Also would be nice for Armstrong to stop whining about the refs. He is usually pretty good but becoming a bit of a homer this year. I blame Matt Devlin for this, just one more reason to can Devlin and get a decent PBP guy in. Too bad Chuck had to go back home due to family reasons he was great to listen to.

Bargnani letting Indiana's little guys blow by him again. Will this guy ever not look like an absent minded idiot out there? Last minute, now a 2 point game again.

Man that was close. Almost blew another 4th quarter lead. Great night for Calderon getting a triple double. Bargiani needs to go or pick it up. The guy's efficiency right now is god awful. I can't believe he got on the all-star ballot list.

Excellent effort especially coming off a heartbreaking loss last night. Game was alot more like an NFL football game than a basketball game. Raps got jobbed by officials pretty heavily in the 4th, and still won. Satisfying win indeed.
Like the intensity I'm seeing from Derozan. Hope he continues his physical & decisive play in the post.
Jonas met the challenge of playing big Roy Hibbert; didn't get pushed around.
Amir was pure heart & hustle on the glass too.
Congrats to Jose on his Triple-Double.
As for Bargnani...well, he was a complete and utter liability. May as well not have even bothered to play. Just can't depend on that guy to play defense or rebound.
