We're still waiting for you in the Photo thread, genius. Great advice btw.

Like Regulator said above, which is correct.

Also, just fiddle around with various f stops until you get the effect you desire.

Possibly, if you didn't keep your receipt. Go back I the registry you paid at, they can likely help you out.

Also, it also depends how far apart your subject and background are.
More distance between them, the more natural blur as well.

Is there a straight forward way to transfer a large amount of data between people?

I am trying to send about 30 Gb of files between myself and someone across the country. I really feel like I should already know the answer but seem to default to mailing a thumb drive.
Other ideas include: remote login, torrents, FTP site
I don't mind spending a few bucks if required.

Thanks

Maybe I should just make Puxlut's neverending question thread.

If I had a silver bar that I wanted to sell, is there a company that buys silver, or is it just easier to do ebay/kijiji?

Dropbox speed kind of sucks for that much data, as it is kind of slow. I have had much better speeds from Google Drive. 100GB on Google drive is currently 5 bucks, which is a bit cheaper than Dropbox, at $10.

Either way, you are going to have to shell out a bit of cash.

If it was me, I would set up a temp FTP site on my local connection. Filezilla is a reasonably easy way to do this. I guess you could make a torrent as well, if you are comfortable with that, as it would give you the ability to throttle your own speeds, since even with a huge upload capacity that transfer is going to take a long time.

A quick google search gives some locally https://maps.google.ca/maps?ie=UTF-8...&ved=0CKUBELYD

I know a friends father (since deceased) used to buy gold/silver from one of the places on 16 ave but I'm not sure which one. Maybe phone around and see who will give you the best price?

I'm on week 2 on one of those "couch to 5k" programs, do they really work? I would think they do as they build up your stamina but just wondering if anyone has completed a program like this.

One of my profs at school started this program:

https://www.ucalgary.ca/marathon/fil...%20Running.pdf

If your program is sound, it should work.

How big? Is it recognized (stamped with the name of who made it)?

Albern Coin on 16th and Center will certainly take a look at it. Likely get some interest on Kijiji as well.

Yeah, it will work for you assuming you're in reasonable shape. I haven't taken one but basically devised my own program and went on to run sub-3-hour marathons twice.

Seriously, pretty much anyone who can walk fine can run 5K. It's not hard. Set your sights higher; aim for 10K as that's also achievable. I'd bet you can run 5K immediately with no training. That's not hard.

If you want an e-coach, PM me.

If you start a couch to 5K program I think the downfall is always after you miss the first run. If you can hit your three/four runs a week for the entirety of the program then it should work out well. But if you skip a run or two it seems that most people never recover. (Not physically but mentally, if it is okay to skip one, it becomes okay to skip another)

What happened in the case of feet washing up on shore on the west coast.

Was it solved?

Yeah they were suicides (bridge jumpers). The sea and sea creatures would take care of the bodies, but the shoes were protecting the feet, which would then wash up.
