				 Jersey Framing or Shadowbowing?

			Hey guys,
Does anyone know where to go to get a frame for a signed jersey kind of like the ones you see in Boston Pizza?

I've only seen 17th Ave Framing but their site is pretty vague about pricing and I've heard it could cost around 300 bucks.

Try Michael's. They usually have 50% off framing coupons they put out every month or so

Michael's framing is sub-par. So I have been told. I have a couple jerseys that need framing, I can't justify the price...

			hey Mav
if you are at all 'handy' they aren't that hard to make. i made mine...

thin ply wood back - covered in black felt
mdf sides/front 'frame' painted black
a piece of glass

...and they cost a lot less if you build it yourself

I have bought shadow boxes at micheals, and then used some styrofoam behind it to keep everything tight. You can then use an upside down hanger and some discret wire to keep it in place.
The end product is ok relative to a pro job, but you are saving about $150 or more.

I have also seen London drugs advertise jersey cases for around $150

I've bought my frames at East Ridge Hobbies in Riverbend. They're reasonably inexpensive (around $85) and pretty sturdy.

Thanks guys, lots of good suggestions. I'm going to swing by a couple of these places and have a look but after looking at bc-chris' boxes, I may just try and make my own. Any chance you drew up any plans your could share Chris?

I got mine done at Prints Charming off 17th SW. Great job, but quite expensive. A bunch of red yellow and black matting with it.

Bump -- London Drugs currently has these on sale for only $99.99. Pretty good quality for the price -- glass front, cloth interior, and felt on the outside. Front door opens with a magnetic closure.

If not done properly. no frame looks better than a sloppy frame job.
The .25cent mounting job. turn a coat hanger upside down...center the jersey on the coathanger and hang it on a thumb tack

For anyone that is curious about the London Drugs deal. Just picked one up today. Here's a pic of it. Pretty happy with it for $99.

I built my own a few years ago and was happy with them but those London drugs ones are excellent for the price.

Damn, missed the sale on this one. Going to have to keep an eye on for that again, I still have a jersey that I got signed by a bunch of players, wouldn't love to put that in a frame.
