They have their own problems, if the crown is an option I'd go that way. I'm guessing the crown would probably be cheaper anyway. When I had my bridge installed they ground down the good teeth on either side to anchor it. If the tooth is in the back and non visible I would consider having it pulled if money is a problem . I had the bridge for about 10 years and did not enjoy it. It became uncomfortable over time and was a pain to clean.

The only way I would ever consider a bridge:
- Tooth couldn't be saved.
- Couldn't afford implants.
- Tooth was visible and pulling without filling the gap wasn't an option.

The flu shot is not so YOU don't get the flu. It's for society in general who doesn't want to catch the flu from YOU. This includes all types of at risk groups for whom the flu would be deadly. Immunization is a method of controlling the spread of the flu virus.

This doesn't make much sense to me.

a) the flu shot doesn't prevent you, once infected, from spreading the flu to others. It stops you from getting the flu in the first place, no?

b) If the high risk people don't want to catch the flu, why don't they get immunized?

Of course getting it jumpstarts your ability to fight the virus, but if you continually get vaccinations and then one year you don't, your body may not respond as it hasn't had the jumpstart of the vaccination. I could be talking out of my ass, but I'm pretty sure thats how it works. Just like if you're constantly taking antibiotics, your body grows dependent on the treatment.

Exactly, which is why you probably don't need to get it.

Unless you have contact with young kids, elderly or sick people on a regular basis. You can fight if off, even if it means a bit in bed, but they often can't at all.

Which is I think what the poster meant when he said a flu shot isn't for you, but for those around you.

How does this not make sense. If you don't have the flu, you won't be coughing and hacking your flu germs on everyone else. Preventing yourself from getting the flu serves the greater good of the community by not spreading those germs around infecting others.

Ah I see your thought process, and yes I agree. I read your post like this:

The flu shot is for people that have the flu. It works to keep the flu in their body, and ###### the expulsion of germs through coughing, etc.

I thought you were commenting on the actual working of the vacine, instead of the reasons for the vacine.

Many things wrong here:
1) routine vaccination actually makes your body MORE able to fight off a flu you are not vaccinated for

2) repeated use of antibiotics increases resistance by bacteria. Your body does not become dependant on them. Period.

3) you may not see it as a risk, but if you choose not to get the vaccine and pass the virus to a person at risk, you too are responsible

Not possible AFAIK, unless you happen to know someone who has a copy.

Most Codes and Standards are published by external organizations and are not available on-line.

Shouldn't the library have something on hold that certain sections can be photocopied from? Or, perhaps their e-library. I found that to be quite the useful area for finding stuff (i.e. car repair manuals).

Here's a question... while driving down Deerfoot today I was driving along a semi-truck, and the lug-nuts had some kind of 4 inch spikes that protruded out. Are these decoration, do they act as whiskers, or just for tearing up any vehicles that come to close?

I think they indicate if the lug nuts have come loose.
