It means you should hate the useless technical jargon that's only purpose is to take some simple method or procedure and obfuscate the hell out of it. That's the thing I hate most about engineering and comp. sci - the terminology.

Is there a forum akin to this one (CP Off Topic Forum), but Vancouver based that someone can recommend? This forum would have been awesome when I lived in Calgary. The best pizza in Calgary thread, for example.

As a financial planner I'll tell you that you can do your own will, and lots do. However, it may be a really stupid thing because if you screw up (many, many do), it could be the worst thing you ever did. Pay the few hundred dollars and get it done right is my advice.

I don't know what to say. That sounds awful. I'm racking my brain for what you might be talking about. Hantavirus? Regardless, at the first sign of anything not feeling right, go get medical attention. If it's hantavirus, I think they can diagnosis it from a blood test before the onset of symptoms.

Yeah, Hantavirus. I read up on the symptoms, I'm honestly not too worried but I just bought a house with some financial help of my parents and my girlfriend and I want to make sure the assets go to the right people and not the state. Just wanted to make sure everything is kosher.

I just emailed around asking for lawyer recommendations, so I'll go with that. In the interm, in case I die tomorrow or whatever, I'll write up a primitive will just in case.

Can you write in a line that will let us know on CP if you died? I hate threads with loose ends.

Say a man is known for constantly starting bar fights, is a very large man, and has no issue with picking on much smaller men than himself. One day he starts trouble outside of a bar and ends up dying as a result of an injury he suffers during the altercation. Am I a bad person for not feeling the least bit sorry for him?

A holographic will, one that is written in your own handwriting is considered valid in Alberta and I would assume in most other north american jurisdictions. I am not a lawyer in California so i can't, and wouldn't give advice specific to your situation. You may want to write one up until you get to the lawyer. Also, don't go with the cheapest quote. You don't want something spit out of the word processor by the assistant that has not been changed in years. A good reference is important. You should also discuss you wishes with the GF and you parents and tell them you wrote out a will. A creepy talk but essential.

The reported incidents/deaths are from those weirdo tent cabin things. I didn't stay there, but I was nearby quite a bit from "ground zero" ... and of coarse, this isn't isolated. But I'm not worried, I think things should be ok.

Why do the majority of The Club users drive a POS vehicle from the early 90's?

Seriously, who would steal your 1992 Ford Tempo?

Read up on the web about plumbing problems, or even better, ask a plumber. Ours said he's had to unblock a few drains because of "flushable" wipes. TP will fall apart even if it's blocking the drain, these things never tear.

It's because people will steal the car. 90s cars used to be tops on the stolen car list because they were so easy to steal. Now it's probably because so few 90s cars are still running. How many stolen cars are for reasons other than joyriding?

You wonder why anyone would want to steal most of these, probably because they're easy to take.
