I have no idea who I'm insulting with that post. I turned off sigs years ago when it was some kind of fad to have a gigantic rectangle with your own name on it (because I couldn't read it up in the top left??).

I honestly just did it out of frustration with GDT, because when the load was high on the page it mean less changing pages with having 60 per page instead of the default.
Now the default setting just feels so short.

I hadn't changed mine, then I found out about it. I thought about changing it, but the faster loading times make sense. Even with my super fast connection I get the odd gif that takes a while. I don't need to wait on the funny picture thread. Plus smaller pages are easier to read, go bite sized with.

The default setting was created for a reason. Why try to be different?
I actually used to increase the number but I went back to default quite some time ago.
I am also one of those signature blocking types. Have done it since I became a member.

The only thread where having 60 as your PPP can be annoying is the Cool Picture thread. That can be a real bitch to load when there is 59 posts of vids and gifs. Otherwise 60 is the way to go.

The vBulletin forum software was first introduced in the year 2000, when a significant percentage of the internet's population was still using dial-up modems and loading too much information per page would cause problems.
In 2000, websites were designed to be no wider than 640 pixels and display no more than 256 colours because a lot of people were still using machines that couldn't do better than that.
Times change and too many people get stuck living with rules that were made for a reason many years ago without knowing why those rules were put in place, or why they no longer need to be followed.

Change CP's defaults? I cant do that. I'm used to it the way it is, I couldnt change it, if I changed it would be a disaster of biblical proportions! Old testament! Real wrath of God type stuff! Fire and Brimstone coming down from the skies, river and seas boiling, 40 years of darkness, earthquakes and volcanoes, the dead rising from the grave, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together...mass hysteria!
