				 Private MRI options around Calgary

I've just been referred for an MRI on my knee, and as I understand it, it's going to be months before there's an availability.
I know there's an option to pay for a private MRI - just wondering if anyone has any experience with it here in Calgary, what the cost would likely be, and if there's a preferred clinic.

I believe I paid $500 for an MRI on my knee about 6 years ago. May have been as high as $750 but you may be able to use it as a tax write off.
I went through Canadian Diagnostics and they were great - got me in the same day.

All I can say is if you have the money - do it. If you have a major knee problem the rehab is particularly long enough - don't add to the timeline by waiting 6 months for the MRI.

 Good luck with it.

Never used them myself, but apparently you can get a MRI through the UofC sports medicine clinic. It is apparently a quicker way to get a MRI. Not sure how you go about getting an appointment, but it may be worth your while to check it out.

There's four places. There's the MRI Hut, that's on third. There's MRIs-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Noisy Magnet Tube that's on third. Chucka Chucka Chucka Chucka... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the MRI complex on third in the MRI district.

Thanks - there's something called the Acute Knee Injury Clinic at the U of C, and it looks like I might qualify. Let's hope it turns into something good.

I just had a private MRI 2 months ago. I was on the public wait list but I signed up in February and wasnt scheduled until November. So the wait time wasnt worth the amount of pain I am going through. I needed answers way sooner.
I went through Canadian Diagnostics, and they got me in for an MRI within 2 days.

I had to get 2 MRI's done, (pelvis and spine), so I had to paid roughly $750 x 2 but got a 10% discount because I got two.

I had a good experience, got a CD with all my MRI images on it within 5 minutes after my MRI was completed.

I went to Mayfair Diagnostic Imaging on Elbow at Glenmore. ~$750 but it took three days to get in as opposed to nine months.

I've had 2 at Mayfair, both times they had me in within a couple of days. Well worth the money if you can afford it and you are in pain.
