It's good to see him going the NCAA route. He can't play hockey forever, and since he's not ready to make it to the big show quite yet, why not get an education while he's still developing?
IMO this is the best route, I'd rather play college hockey in the US than play in the QMJHL for, say, Val-d'Or, simply due to the fact that you have somewhat of a choice on where you want to play.

He was going to play College anyway, he was just going to do it a year from now. Instead he is going to start this fall.

That and he probably had to spend time on more important things like hockey. You can't compare your average joe's schedule to that of a high performance athlete's.

Also, he is waaaaay better than you at playing hockey. Probably a little more inportant than driving lessons. Just guessing though as I am old and not as good at hockey as everyone else.
