Manchester City: The science behind the champions
On top of educating players about diet and nutrition and supplementing their consumption before, during and after games, Erith and his team use the latest scientific advances to help prevent injuries.
City were so successful in keeping players fit last season that a table compiled by analysts at PhysioRoom.com - a specialist sports injury website - had City leading the way, with fewer significant injuries and fewer days lost to those injuries than any other Premier League club.
I did not know this about City.

Arsenal’s Emmanuel Frimpong has been charged under FA Rule E3 for improper conduct in relation to recent comments made on Twitter.
The allegation is that Frimpong posted comments amounting to improper conduct and/or which brought the game into disrepute, which included a reference to ethnic origin, faith or race.
The player has until 4pm on 27 July 2012 to respond to the charge.

the comment was "scum yid"

He's a tool, though "yid scum" would have made more sense.
Strange phrase and connotation "yid" has. Many see it as a badge of honour when supporting Spurs, others see it as highly offensive and anti-semitic.
The Y word goes from amusing to abusing
The self-mocking nickname of Spurs fans, Jew and gentile alike, is no longer a joke, writes Matthew Norman.

QPR may loan out Barton to speed up his return.
Football in England really is turning into a cesspit devoid of any values whatsoever.

I am surprised they are even bringing him back
but if they are it basically lowers his suspension to 7 games

Did they take their depth into consideration? Having an interchangeable line-up of superstars and being able to swap them like-for-like probably helps reduce the wear and tear. Using a Wengerism, most of their players do not enter the 'red zone' all too often.

Junior Hoilett has signed with QPR. Now he just needs to get his #### together and suit up for Canada.

good decision if he wants to start
the Liverpool/Arsenal/Spurs thought never made sense, at his age you don't want to be a sub

Charlie Adam must have something against Gareth Bale, another horror tackle from him today that left Bale lucky to not go off on a stretcher
he all ready put him out for 3 months once before

how's Bale's wonder recovery from that injury that kept him out from the Olympic games going?

was declared fully fit last Sunday, so hopefully this Adam injury doesn't cause any extra issues to the problem which the FA medical staff deemed a risk to have him selected as they would not know if he was fit in time when their ability to choose a replacement goes away
Blatter raised an issue about it, which Spurs and more importantly the FA shot down instantly

West Ham United have agreed a £2m loan fee with Liverpool for Andy Carroll.
The deal for the England striker is with a view to a permanent transfer of £17m, providing West Ham United stay in the Premier League.

I have no issues loaning him, hes young and could really use some good first team experience, but I do have issues with a proposed permanent sale.

ya he still has talent, and him + Big Sam's longball + Nolan (who he worked great with at Newcastle) could equal 15+ goals
In which case the fee would be a great deal for West Ham
no risk as well if he bombs
win/win for them
