I love this thread.
20 people get shot in Toronto and there are 13 replies. Nothing on where the system broke down and criminals got weapons and used them in a country with strict gun control. Nothing on what might be wrong with the culture or laws that this would happen there. Dead issue
A VERY crazy person goes off in the US with bombs, gas and yes guns and there are 37 pages. All about what is wrong with America and how arrogant and stupid we are. Maybe this is more about a Canadian inferiority complex than America?

The fact Limbaugh and Hannity have the audiences they do is far more telling than the two blowhards themselves.

Can't argue with this really, the Toronto mall shootings should have been discussed more IMO, I did partake slightly but these days the Canadian version of the NRA just make me sick so it just went away.
I will say this to you though. True or false?
There's a 95% chance the guns involved in the Toronto shootings were smuggled into Canada from the USA.

How about..WTF was he doing with a handgun in is pocket shopping at walmart? Do you really think it's a good thing to take your kids shopping for shoes knowing that a gun fight could break out at any moment or some idiot such as this guy could "accidently" shoot you or your kids?.
P.S. Too bad he didn't blow his tool off.

Gun safety would teach you not to carry around a handgun in your pocket.

Nice try at a real answer!
But yet millions of so-called "trained" individuals do carry them, how about no guns no teaching necessary?

I agree, but the fact is that Toronto remains the safest large city in North America, in a country with fairly reasonable firearm regulation, and so Toronto's mall shooting seems to be an isolated incident rather than a symptom of a much larger problem (unlike the Denver shooting.)

There have been several shootings in Toronto this summer. The truth is, this thread is more about American culture and arguing the merits of gun control, and these aren't topics that can be discussed when looking at the escalating level of violence in Toronto.

There aren't many lethal weaponry that can do as much damage as was done in that amount of time as guns. Sure he could have made a bomb and bombed the theatre but that isn't really the same as what he did.

You are so clueless it is nauseating. Holmes built dozens of explosives and you don't think the fact that he would have found another way is a sure thing?

The reason why it was not discussed at length is that there was little in the way of accusations that gun owners were the problem. That was a known gang related issue and there is little to discuss there...that goes for all the Toronto shootings, they are a different problem

No millions of people don't carry guns in their pockets. They make concealed carry holsters which I think is more the standard....clearly carrying a gun in your in your pocket is stupid, first off there is no way I could conceal a pistol in my pockets and second off I can barely keep my cell phone from falling out so.......

So criminals using guns in Canada is the USA's fault because the guns likely came through the US border?
So using this logic it's Mexico's fault the US has a drug problem because the bulk of the illegal drugs in the US come across the Mexican border?
I understand what you are saying but it is not a good answer.

Maybe that's what the Dept. of Justice believes and in retaliation our AG flooded Mexico with guns so the drug cartels could kill each other!

currently, those countries have 135 million people, the US has 311,
So if you add those numbers (355) and even multiply it by 3 that's just over 1000, compared to 11000
