The thing that stands out to me is how improved his on base percentage is. When he first came up in Cincinatti his OBP numbers were pretty respectable being in the 360 range, but it had been way down since he's been a Jay.
I believe he was sent to AAA for short periods each of the past two seasons to work on some things. Rather than sulk or demand a trade/release, he went down and worked his way back up. Hopefully this is a Bautista like breakout season for him and he can be one of the leagues more productive hitters. That Scott Rolen trade is paying off for the Jays...didn't always look like it would.
