There's always just one song.
CBC used their theme song for about 100 Olympics!

I just hope they don't overdo it like they did in Vancouver.

I don't get these McDonalds commercials. Where is the portly 5'1 tall white woman who waddles around smiling annoyingling, dying inside every time she swipes into her shift.

Crap start, rest was good, I thought and the flame at the end was superb. So why they had to #### up a great finish by bringing on McCartney at the end I just don't know. If they'd stopped just before he started, it would have been a really good finish.

Seriously CTV?
You have the rights to the footage, you just showed the ceremony in HD and your crappy local affiliate can't show the HD feed now?
Long live Global News.

speaking of the picture
I didn't notice it when I heard it but they took out the part of 'God Save the Queen' when the choir sang it that for lack of a better word talks about world domination
this part
Quote:
O Lord, our God, arise,
Scatter her enemies,
And make them fall.
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On thee our hopes we fix:
God save the Queen.

Did anyone else find it odd that they brought out all the kids in the hospital beds that they were playing the Exorcist theme song?

All subjective I suppose but .... just watched it and couldn't disagree more.
Beijing was rigid and sterile, funless and more of a show of power and pyrotechnics and look ... we've got lots of drums. That was it ..... for me
Last nights show was organised chaos, warm, quirky, entertaining .... and fun. It was a refreshing distraction from the rigid choreography of previous ceremonies.
But agreed, Beijing had better fireworks.

Missed that, I did however find it appropriate given the current state of the NHS that in some cases they had 2 kids to a bed.
