I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

So cool.

I love antiquing and going through old junk. I guess that makes me both old and a dork, but I just think it's sort of like playing the lottery for people with an interest in history. Odds are you'll just waste a bunch of money, but every now and again you'll come up a winner.

Listening to the radio, they thought that the $3 million estimate was pretty low. The rarest three cards could bring significantly more than that themselves.

It's pretty amazing what shape those cards are in considering they are a century old. The humidity conditions in that attic must have been just perfect to preserve them in that way.

Considering the condition they are in it's closer to a $15million collection. Those collectors are all about the condition now.

Maybe he intends on taking them to the guys on Pawn Stars?

Worth 15 mill, but 3 is all they can give them. There has to be some profit in there, right?

that Darryl guy from Storage Wars found one of the largest high grade comic collections in history. He sold it way too early though and only got like $300k. The stuff he had is prob over $10mil now.

God that show annoys me. If you're going to pawn something you should at least know how pawning works. If it's worth $5,000 you don't GET $5,000 for it.

The cards are amazing... to have 100 year old cards being rated a 9 or a 10 in quality is awesome.

Expect a rise in people gaslighting their elder relatives for access to the attic.

everytime i hear a story about rare sports cards, i think of that guy here in calgary that wanted a million for his gretzky rookie card. he claims to have had a legit offer for $600k or so and turned it down - last i heard he still had the card........i could likely google this crap, but that would take the fun out of me laughing at the guy ofr thinking someone would pay a million for that particular card.

my house was built in 2005 - it seems unlikely that i'd find any honus wagners or mel otts up in the attic.......

My dad is now 60, and he swears to this day, that he was in posession of a Mickey Mantle Rookie Card in his collection of baseball stuff. He went away to University, and his mom threw it all away. That would be worth a fortune now.

I'm pretty sure there is a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelle_Lindbergh card up in vent in my parents house, somehow I remember throwing this card up there when I was a kid (about 25 years ago) I want to check even though the card is probably in bad shape.
