Should we start taking bets on how many things will be technically wrong in this movie? I can start with the MD-80 series not having winglets:

Aviation, aviation law, criminal charges... this is shaping up to be my favourite movie ever

I almost can't wait to see how disappointed I'm going to be when I see it

Wow, that movie looks great. I think I might be a little nervous watching it because I always have a little tinge of fear when flying, especially at takeoff. But any movie involving airplanes is one to see no matter what, even if its going to be a terrible movie like red tails.

YYC is getting busier. They now require reserving a landing time during peak hours:

A jammed pitch trim leads to this very different landing of an ATR-72:

Westjet is unveiling a Q400 for the media at the airport today, should see some interesting stories in the media about it in a day or two.

Also, there was an A340 in a paintjob I didn't recognize at the airport a couple of days ago, anyone know why? My guesses were more horses (spruce meadows and/or stampede) or something to do with the British Army.

I saw that Bombardier brought the Q400 back just yesterday for them. Neat.

The A340 you saw was most likely the French Air Force:

Here is the Q400 at WestJet yesterday:

Interesting, thanks. I wonder what the French Air Force was doing here. Any idea whether that's a VIP plane?

Operation Prairie Thunder 2! I didn't know the Brits let the French play on their base.

Blended Wing Bodies are pretty cool, I wonder how long until we actually see a full scale flight test?

Never a good sign when these old hogs start showing up at your airport:

Kind of surprised no one had posted the 787 flight demo from Farnborough this week

Love the touch 'n go

Tonight (Saturday) around 7pm a plane that looked like a fighter jet flew over SW Calgary. Any idea what this was about and what the plane was?
