Help find Ralph (missing person)....
The girlfriend of a very good friend of mine has asked us to join in and help find her very good friend, Ralph Simington.
Its been 10 days now since he was seen and of course everyone associated with him is very upset and scared as to his whereabouts.
The Herald is running this piece on him...
http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/Po...712/story.html
I know a lot of CPers live in the area where (IIRC) he resides. Somewhere around 17th and 14th.
He is one of those guys that is willing to help anyone needing it, and why his disappearance is so troubling.
Anyone with info is asked to contact CPS or crimestoppers.

There is a group of us meeting at Shaw Millenium Park tonight to search/poster campaign. If anyone wants to help, we are meeting at 7pm, rain or shine.
For the updates:
Police actions thus far:
They have actively had the Marine Unit out on the river from Bearspaw to Policeman Flats (22X area).
The bike unit has actively been looking along the river, throughout the downtown core, etc. They have looked extensively along the river banks as well.
The Mounted Patrol has been out as well throughout the river banks, they have a higher vantage than the people on the bikes and people walking.
The cruisers travelling around throughout the city are actively looking for Dad on their patrols.
City Transit has been made aware of Ralphs photo.
It would be a potential danger to have untrained people going out on the river to look, we do not want to put anyone at risk.
With regard to the Search and Rescue, the reason that an official search has not been authorized by the police department is that we do not have a specific starting point as we do not know where Dad went after the meeting on June 15 in Bowness. However there have been great efforts made by the CPS to cover the river and the banks via the above mentioned actions.
Our best option at this time is to continue with the poster campaign in the downtown core, shopping malls, bus depots, late night diners, etc.
The above taken from the Facebook page to help find him.

Wow.....just a stunning lack of responses from past history of similar kind of threads.
That has to land on me.
I plead that ALL ignore the poster and focus on a 67 year old man who has nothing to do with me other than a mutual friend.
We NEED to find out what happened with this guy...nobody moreso than his family.
Asking for help.

Ignore the poster? I'm not sure what else to say other than I hope he is found safe. You make it sound like people don't care, which I find odd.

Are you looking for more platitudes? I'm sure everyone hopes he is found safe and sound. I don't see what 50 posts to that effect changes. But maybe I'm just bitter and jaded.

Maybe change the thread title?
It didn't indicate a missing person to me at all. Could have been a game, or show or anything.
I think the thread would get more clicks if you put "missing person" in there.
I'm not in Calgary, but hope he is found safe.

That's awful and scary. He's the same age as my dad and I can only try to imagine how devastating it would be to have such a unexplained disappearance in the family.
I'm not in Calgary but I am sending all my good vibes out to the volunteer- and police searchers out there looking for Ralph. Hope they find him safe and sound.

Sounds like this is your father, I wish you and your family the best and hope he is found safe and sound. If I was in Calgary I would be there to help out, I emailed out the flyer to my Calgary friends as well.

Tranny I would help as well but am not in Calgary.
Any history of mental illness? Could he have boarded a bus somewhere by accident? I'm in Edmonton and would keep a look out or go to the greyhound station and inquire if that is a possibility.

I read this basically right after you posted and I hope he is found safely (of course!). I didn't post initially just because I didn't have much to contribute other than to state the obvious.
