				 Jankowski on the move

As expected, I received some pretty quick interest on Jankowski since he was drafted by the Flames. Ultimately though, it was Carolina that stepped up to the plate with a great offer that made for a very easy deal.
 To Carolina
 Mark Jankowski

 To Dallas
 Tyler Ennis
 Jarred Tinordi

I really like the risk reward that a prospect like Jankowski has and I was pretty happy to see the Flames take him. That said, everyone has a price and I feel i got really good return in this deal. Thanks Doug for the fast and direct talks...I was more then happy to send Jankowski your way.

Ravi took a couple runs at it, but we were not able to find the right player on his end.

I should have made Jankowski the No.2 selection overall in the draft but i got greedy and was waiting for later to pick him. Who the hell would have thought that the Flames would have drafted him. I got caught with my hand in the cookie jar and paid a heavy price for it
Big thanks for Rob for making moving Jankowski to the Canes. I really hated move Tinordi but it needed to be done. This has been gnawing at me since Feaster left the podium on Friday

Hurricanes will be making an official announcement to our fans on Wednesday when Jankowski is set to arrive in Raleigh

Thats a great return for Dallas. Ennis alone is a better return but adding in Tinordi as well. Nice but Doug got what he wanted, good for you to pay the price.

Right there those two deals are fantastic.

How many GM's in this league are giving up a 70+ young player for a guy in the ECHL. No question it's a good deal for me but it was a heavy price that sank my team for it. Thats an OV hit not many GM's in this league are willing to do. The key things about those deal is those where offer to me... offers I couldn't refuse nor did I negotiate with
 but what about these ones

Semyon Varlamov for Eric Fehr, Michael Del Zott, Jared Knight, 1st
Jack Campbell for Top 5 pick( Jonathan Huberdeau) and a 2nd

 and the kicker

Brandon Sutter for Hal Gill, Kyle McLaren, Brian Rolston, Todd Marchant, +22.5 Million

Haha, I forgot about that one...it was a couple years back. I don't like using this word very often, but that was a pretty epic trade. That was with the Devils, wasn't it? Awesome stuff.

We inquired about this one and made some pretty good offers. However given how far away this guy is we weren't willing to put together a package like this. Dallas was definitely asking for a higher caliber player from me but was willing to add on his end. Can't blame him one bit for taking this offer.

We did manage to acquire 4 of the other guys the Flames drafted this year at what we felt were much more reasonable prices. This includes Patrick Sieloff who is probably one of our favorites from the draft.

Sorry Ravi This would be a time that maybe your reputation for paying handsomely for Flames prospects hurt you (or cost me) Once i screwed up on Jankowski i was pretty content to let him simmer in Rob's ECHL and wait it out till he lost faith in him or tired of waiting... Then the Flames drafted him, and once I seen you acquire the other guys I knew you'll be coming out gunning.

No question, Rob and Ravi are the winners of this deal

Its an interesting deal..... I just wonder if Jankowski is around 5 years away from NHL..... He is a really..really long term prospect.
 Good deal for both sides.

Thats a huge win for Dallas. I like the Jankowski pick, and thats exactly the kind of guy the Flames should be hunting down. It's just that Ennis and Tinordi are both good prospects as well.
