Real life got in the way for me last night, which was probably for the best as apparently London got shut down due to weather. That would have really hooped my network. Now today my wife is starting to have contractions, can't this baby let me have a weekend to build my tiny airline empire?

I think we're going to end up at #21 for this event. Currently 600 behind #20 and about 400 in front of #22. Good job by whoever has racked up 568 flights for our crew. That's impressive dedication.
My gamecenter id is "UkrainianCanuck" (Canuck as in Canadian, not those divers from Vancouver).

I'm part of the group, but I haven't contributed to it because I'm still in the starting out phase. Does that make me ineligible for rewards?

Man, I was having so much trouble getting into this game before I bought some new airports. Then I established hubs in Phoenix and Dallas with two feeder airports to each and it's suddenly so much more interesting.

You have to deliver a minimum of 5 jobs to the global event to be eligible to win any of the prizes for it.

Don't even get me started! Luckily I have Paris as well so it helped me continue on helping it slowed me down for sure! Also got caught up watching the Finals.

Am I doing this wrong? I only have 4 airports out of 10. 7 planes working those 4. I'm micromanaging like hell.

The 4 out of 10 means that at your current level you can buy up to 6 more airports. I'd recommend buying a couple more for running seven planes.

Expand when you can but don't over do it where you have too many airports to planes and vise versa. Personally I have tried to keep my planes equal to airports or there about. Right now I have 11 of 22 airports and 14 planes.
If you look to expand look at saving up for a Red airport and then you will have tons of jobs. Use the main airport as a layover hub so you can always try to have full planes with people going to the same spot.
Very rarely do I have an empty spot. If I can't find a full plane going to the same spot I will load up empty spots with the closest city and stop over there to pick up more people. Lots of different strategies that's for sure!
My camping weekend just turned into down pour of rain so I might have some time this weekend for the challenge.

Has anyone tried the Advertise feature? Does this increase the number of flight requests to the desired airport?

Not worth the money IMO. If you get a good hub airport going where you route everything out of it you will have more than enough jobs.

So whats everyones strategy? You mention to get a good hub airport and route everything out of it. What does this entitle? Do you send all planes to 1 airport (maybe Casablanca in this case of event) with everything, and then all planes fly there to pickup the deliveries?

Personally I route everything through London and Paris. So I will work my way there looking to fill up planes as I go. Really you can pick any airport to use but a blue or red airport will give you more flexibility in more layovers. I'd spend my money on a bigger airport before advertising for sure!
It really doesn't matter what airport(s) you make it as long as you are leaving that hub with full planes to maximize your money brought in. What airports do you currently have?

I'm just kinda flying wherever. I try to fill up the plane all with 1 destination. If it's taking to long I'll add a couple of the next best thing.

When you say the next best thing do you mean the one paying the most money or the next closest city?

Say for instance I have 2/4 for LA to Cairo and waited for 3 or 4 job refreshes to get the other half and then I just pick the other 2 cities with the highest pay on the shortest route to Cairo.

I found waiting not to be worth it. How I've been doing it and it's been working out pretty well.
Let's say I have a flight from LAX to Cairo but I have to stop at NYR and London to get to Cairo. I have a plane that holds four but only two jobs for Cairo, I'll fill the rest of my plane up with the closest airport (NYR in this case), fly to NYR and then fill my plane up with Cairo flyers, if not enough I will put the rest with London. This way you maximize the $ you get 25% bonus.
Hope that makes sense.

Only at Level 7 but have pretty much nailed all the big airports in Australia and New Zealand . . . One thing I notice is you can't fly east of New Zealand towards South America or any part of the map forward . . . WTF?
