A real true power forward has always been rare in the NHL.

The picks before that were made by professional people as well. The point is that the reaction is somewhat understandable and can't be so easily dismissed simply because you trust the professionals more. The professionals get it wrong plenty of time.

That isn't what I said/meant.

Our specific team of scouts have put together 2 very impressive drafts the last 2 years. I have faith in our collection of scouts, specifically with Weisbrod's influence to do what is best for our team.

And if they don't feel strongly about the group of kids left (or value them all rather equally), acquiring an additional pick increases our odds of picking a future NHLer.

Nobody on LA is a powerforward. Not Richards, not Brown.

They might be considered a powerforward by todays standards, but the last true power forward in this league was Iginla.

It's disappointing, but I guess you have to trust the scouting staff knows what they're doing. Last year's draft we made out really well, so I have faith they have a plan this year. I really wanted Forsberg or Grigorenko though and wished we had traded up for one of them
