The second reason is that every time a free trade agreement is discussed supply management comes up. Eventually supply management has to be taken apart and removed, the sooner the better.

I do disagree with some (maybe several) of the conservative decisions lately but definitely feel that if any party is going to tear up supply management it will be them.
Given that Mexico just got into TPP and Canada is still on the outside, I question how willing they are to tear up supply management, although I agree that they should.

Justin Trudeau comes across to me as an arrogant, self entitled twat. When it comes to actually understanding what it takes to be Prime Minister, I predict he will fall flat on his face.

You obviously have never met him. He's not arrogant at all. He won by a small margin in 2008 but did much better in the last election.

I can honestly say that he's a rare person that I wouldn't have an interest in meeting.

I trust the Liberals to be pretty much exactly as crooked as the Conservatives, perhaps slightly more, but to pursue more policies I agree with.

This is the biggest problem. Everyone knows they are going to be the most crooked of all the parties. Lying is unfortunately politics and from party to party is expected but stealing from taxpayers is unforgiveable.

I don't know, I'd rather have my politicians taking bribes (Liberals) than subverting democracy (Cons).

What? Since Harper is somewhat arrogant it means that nobody else can be called this?

I don't think of Harper as arrogant, he comes across more as smug to me.

I don't think you can lead a nation of people without being arrogant or smug. Humble, non-assuming people don't typically apply for those kinds of jobs.

Translation : Better to be governed by corrupt politicians who can be bought than an honest autocrat who believes he's doing whats best for Canada?

I get that you support the Conservative Party's ideology, and that's a reasonable and justifiable position to have, but holding them up as paragons of honesty and integrity can only be attributed to willful ignorance in light of the scandals that have plagued the party in recent years.

Just say what you're really thinking: "Sure they're just as dishonest and corrupt as the other guys, but they're our kind of dishonest and corrupt."

While I slightly favour Conservatives myself, there's nothing saying that an honest autocrat couldn't accidentally screw up more of Canada than a bribed politician could. Perception of what is right and what actually makes sense and is right for a nation can be completely different things.

In your question, it comes down to which is the lesser of the two evils. If the autocrat is completely incompetant, even if they're flat out perfectly honest and attempting to do what's best for the nation, then I would still favour the corrupt group.

But the point is that I don't think, in general, they are dishonest and corrupt. Sure you will always have a few bad apples who disgrace the party by playing fast and loose with the rules... but I don't think that applies to Stephen Harper.... unlike one former PM that I won't name.

Stephen Harper may have many faults (he's an autocrat, totalitarian, rules his party with an iron fist, somewhat inflexible, comes off as a bit smug at times, isn't particularly charismatic, takes full advantage of the parliamentary system and the advantages that a majority gives him) but I don't believe that dishonesty and untrustworthiness are two of them.
