I would like to play the same style again, and then maybe try a team or doubles match. It would be cool to try a Hunger Games type start with some resources in the middle and everyone starts from there and takes off in different directions.
I can see you teaming with QuadCityImages or HP to hunt me down :P

I like the rule and I agree, but those who find another person proximity in the first day/night cycle will be paranoid.
At least you would know and have the chance to do something about it. With a hidden base - if you stay below ground mining, the likelihood of coming across someone even based 50 blocks away is almost nothing.
The only situation where it would really matter if is one player got seriously screwed with food supply, which might force them above ground without decent equipment.

For food supply, there was tons of cows, pigs and chickens all over the place. This is not a problem.

haha, my video recording crapped out on me after those 7 minutes that I had, but I didn't notice.
I will give the short version of my game.
I dug in, got a ton of iron real quick. Found a giant ravine, but it was FULL of mobs due to it having zero lighting. Worked my way across the ravine and built cobble tunnels to get to iron and gold deposits that were visible. Ended up with 4 bones so I got me a puppy on the surface and went hunting for players since I was fully equipped
As I was running around trying to find players with my single puppy. I saw a skeleton sitting in a hole, so I dug down beside him to try and get bones for a second puppy (to breed them). Everything was going fine, and then a creeper dropped in on my head and took me down to 2 hearts. I finally killed the skeleton, grabbed the bones and went looking for a another puppy.
In my travels, I realized I didn't have an apple (only had 4 gold anyway) and was short on wood, so I stopped and started cutting down trees. Decided I needed an axe, so made a crafting box and set it up on the ground, put the stuff in for an axe and the creeper walked up and blew me to hell.
Both creepers were just me not being careful.
Seeing the videos, I think I would have given whoever I came up against a solid fight, since by the time I would have come across them I would have had at least 4 dogs and 2-4 baby puppies.
In Aegypticus's video, he comes across the warp 11 point, which was the one I started at. Had he looked a little more to the left of where he went he would have seen my initial stuff that as out in the open. I moved a short distance away to an easily identifiable position, since I am terrible with getting lost. By the time he got there though, I had been gone for about 35 minutes, since I had been equipped from about 45 minutes in.
edit: Definitely looking forward to doing this again. My Minecraft videos I have been making are fun to do, but not nearly as fun as UHC.
