A focus on newer things would be nice, though I realize a lot of this is nostalgia and needing a pay check driven cast members from game of thrones would be great.

Nathan Fillion is a must soon, I'd love to see Chris Hardwick and his Nerdist podcast make an appearance.

That would never happen. The SDCC gets that because it's an industry funded convention, not a strictly fan convention. Guests at those cons are paid by the entertainment companies to appear and do autographs and promote new movies as part of their contractual obligations. The industry is not going to split their NA promotions to have one out in the middle of Canada for some reason.
I know it will never happen, but I can only dream. It would really improve Calgary's tourism, etc. I'd just like to see Calgary as one of the big cities for these kind of cultural events. The Stampede is cool and all, but we don't have much else that is "world renowned".

A Back to the Future reunion would be cool. Michael J is Canadian and it's not like Doc Brown is doing anything big these days. Ghost Busters would be hard because of Bill Murray, I think everyone else would do it, but Bill would be the hard one to get.

Quite frankly, before we even begin to think about anything of that sort, we badly need an upgrade of the ancient and embarrassing Stampede Park facilities. It looked like the crew of the Enterprise were at a cattle auction.

CCEE already punches above Calgary's weight, as does the Stampede. I'm not against more and better, but we're already doing quite well.

Awesome! Ya you guys played a really good set from what I saw. Didn't know any specific tunes (didn't play Chrono Trigger, etc) but I could definitely tell it was inspired by classic video game music and a lengthy flip through the expo "magazine" confirmed it. Good bit of planning having you guys start at 9 while people were trickling into the Corral before the gates actually opened at 10 too, IMO. Hope you're back next year.

Waita take advantage of your backstage proximity to the guests as well haha.

I'd imagine the cast will do more of these as they continue to release more seasons:

When Lavar Burton sang the reading rainbow theme song, I smiled, I smiled a lot.

It has far less to do with facilities and far more to do with the Stampde board in general. So awesome they only half-fill the north lots with 1 ticket taker working and no one to direct traffic. Even better after closing there's only 1 exit opened up and it feeds directly into the main flow of traffic out of the south lots. They pocket all those crisp $13 bills and go home plenty early. On Sunday if I wasn't totting 2 kids under 8 I would have parked 2 more blocks away for free and 0 traffic issues like I did Fri and Sat.

We are far and away doing better than Capital X and a mall in Deadmonton. I even asked Will Wheaten a loaded question if he'd ever heard of Calgary before and he said "yeahm I said it in one episode of TNG"!

Definitely! I think he'd be relatively easy to get here too, as far as him wanting to come is concerned. Obviously still very passionate about Firefly and it would probably be as close to his old stomping grounds in Edmonton as an expo like this will get in the foreseeable future.

He also strikes me as someone who would sign on and then try and round up all the other cast members as well so maybe we'd have our Firefly reunion right there

A couple of pics. Garrett Wang was really nice and totally friendly when he dropped by. The guy in the other pick is Johnny Summers who provided the music at TNG EXPOsed with his Little Big Band. Then there's a shot of the piano lid. The hand-print is Jonathan Frakes as he leaned when he signed. Around the top left of Wil's is the outside of his left hand as he paused and leaned while giving someone a good glare when they remarked he was signing with the "wrong" hand as he is left-handed.

More tomorrow of the TNG cast as they signed and some of the other up-close-and-personal moments. These ones were just iphone ones I had close at hand.

Spoiler!

Fillion is apparently friends with Mark Meer and has obviously worked with Felicia Day as well. Maybe they'll recommend it to him.

Someone should have stood up to ask Will Wheaton a guestion and over pronouced the H when they said his name.

Hey Will Whheaton in episode 32 when you talked about skiiing in Calgary did you actually know where Calgary was

Wheaton - "That's a good question . . . . wait a minute why are you saying my name weird"
