For tickets you want to start out at:
http://www.premiumtickethub.com/manc...FQ-Chwodux9CYw
http://www.thesportsboxoffice.com/Ma...FWUaQgodTlijZQ
or ManU's official site:
http://www.manutd.com/en/Tickets-And-Hospitality.aspx
As far as games to try to go to....any of the big teams...Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, New Castle, or the derby match against ManCity. If you got a chance to watch any of the cup games those would be a blast...The FA Cup or the Champions League.

I've never been to a game in England so I'm not totally sure. You might be able to. I saw scalpers in Barcelona and Madrid.

I tried to go to a Liverpool game last year and I couldn't get tickets from scalpers. They had police on and around the grounds that were making sure there was no scalping. I tried to get tickets online, through support clubs, etc and I simply couldn't get them. It was just unfortunate because the game that I was in Liverpool was the last home game of the season, it was against Tottenham with a Europa League spot on the line, and both of the Manchester teams were playing away games that weekend, so it was the perfect storm for everybody wanting tickets to that specific game.
If you plan far enough ahead or pick a place where tickets aren't so darn hard to get then you shouldn't have any problems though.

Compared to England where 2 clubs can spend as much as anyone, and 4 clubs behind them can spend more than the rest of Spain combined

Being a Spud, I wouldn't expect you to. But prior to the financial doping, nobody was close to mounting a serious challenge to the duopoly, in fact Chelsea were rescued from impending bankruptcy during the process.
However, that is a digression. Criticism of the situation in La Liga while justified is mainly made from those casting stones from within the comfort of their own greenhouse.

It is pretty unlikely you'll be able to get scalped tickets for an Arsenal home match. Very few physical tickets are sold as entry to the Stadium is via your chipped membership card.

The teams Spain have in the Europa League are irrelevant, they take that tournament seriously because they cant get into any other tournaments. The whole league should just fold up and watch Barca and Real play each other 38 times.

Spain takes the Europa leauge seriously because they dont want what happened to Italy. The Europa League is almost as important for the UEFA Co-efficent as the Champions League is and Spain and Germany recognize this which was why Germany was able to take over Italys 4th champions league spot. Right now England is going the same way and if there strength in the Champions league falls off like it has a bit this year they may be in for the same fate down the road.

not saying Chelsea are a product of anything but financial doping
but that 04 Arsenal team is basically the opposite of what Wenger had tried to do since, and that doesn't have to do with finances
The only players under 25 that played a big role were Toure and Cashley
most of the team was led by guys on their last real runs (Pires, Bergkamp, Ljungberg, Judas, Silva, Viera, Mad Jens) plus Henry in his absolute prime
Wenger has basically refused to buy anyone over 25 since then outside of Arteta

Hey, look at that. Two games in a row where Messi doesnt score and, surprise, surprise, Barca dont win despite a massive advantage of possession.

Is Pique joking? Is this some sort of sardonic Catalan sense of humour?

I saw Chelsea, Newcastle, Arsenal, and Fulham games when I was in England this year. Also was supposed to go to the England-Netherlands game, but with the riots it was canceled.
If you are going by yourself, it is usually pretty easy to get single seats when tickets go on sale through the club websites. I was able to grab a pair of front row centre seats to a Fulham Europa game for about 10 pounds each a few days before the game through the team website. Games like that it is easier to get tickets than EPL matches. That was a great stadium to see a game.
But by far my best experience watching a game was Newcastle. Amazing stadium. Amazing fans. Great atmosphere, and the location of the stadium for pre/post drinks is second to none. It's up there with my all time favourite sporting experiences.
Also you can buy tickets for England games through thefa.com. They don't seem to sell out that often, so if you can plan your trip around a game at Wembley, do it! England have a ton of games coming up in the next year.

After 10 minutes, Cahill off, Chelsea possession negligible and the bus has been well and truly parked. Can't see it staying 0-0 for long.

What did he do for the card? Following on goal.com and all they have is
"
RED CARD! it's all kicking off. Chelsea captain John terry appears to bump Alexis Sanchez in the back, and is shown a straight red card. I find it hard to see how that is a sending off offence. But Chelsea have it all to do now.
