How appropriate: Kanye West will reprise his G.O.O.D. Friday music series this coming Friday, which is actually the real Good Friday. According to Pusha T, West will release “Mercy”, the lead track from G.O.O.D. Music: The Album.
Announced by West last fall, the album will feature members of West’s G.O.O.D. Music label, including Pusha T, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Common, and John Legend. A release date has yet to be announced.
Wasn't Mould at SXSW the same time you were? Yeah. I didn't run into him, though. I thought that would be nice. What would happen though is if, say, he came to my show or I came to his show, the most-watched person in the room would be the person that's not on stage. Bob's got some hurt to put behind him yet. I think the world of the guy, but he doesn't even want to talk about the pain that I've been able to work out by talking to other people and if I sincerely wounded him, you know, I'd like that put that right. This is supposed to be the part of a person's life where they start thinking about how they've lived their life, who they've touched and who they've affected.
Did you read any of Mould's book? I ended up reading out of disbelief initially. I'd hear a report about something in it and I would [react] by saying "Oh, that's not what he said" or "I have to see what he phrased this around." To tell you the truth, I was really surprised [at what was in the book].
How so? It really sounds like like it was written by the President of the Bob Mould Fan Club rather than by Bob Mould.
Let's say Bob called you up to discuss a Hüsker Dü reunion. What would your reaction be? Provided everybody is on board, I would say," Let's go into the studio with some new material."
Aaron Freeman, who is best known as Gene Ween, will soon release Marvelous Clouds, his 13-song tribute to the poet and songwriter Rod McKuen. Earlier this year, we heard “As I Love My Own” from that release, and today we have another new track, the cascading “Love’s Been Good To Me.” Stream it below.
Sigur Rós has been working on a new album that was expected for a spring release. Now, according to Q Magazine, the album is finished and is right on time with a May 29 release date. The album is the band’s follow up to 2008’s Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust and is titled Valtari.
I am not sure if this was mentioned or not, but I am very excited for this.

I am too! So far I think they only have the Osheaga date booked, but I hope they come further out west.
There's a new album coming soon, I saw the information somewhere last week and I can't remember where.

Jack White's Blunderbuss is streaming for free right now on iTunes. The album comes out next tuesday. I'm really liking it so far after listening to the first few songs.
Hey CP - long time no see. Well, I still lurk sometimes.
I've been away in France for ages and I recently (this morning) finished recording a 5-song album, which I have up on my bandcamp site as a digital download. It's introspective, meandering and occasionally intense. It's tough for me to give it a genre, but I know that I share musical tastes with quite a few of you. So maybe you guys will like it.
Any thoughts/comments are much welcomed from my CP brethren. There's a download option as well where you name your price, including zero. I'm not in this for money, I just want my music to be heard. I figured this was a good thread to put it in, despite it not being an actual CD (I haven't got much in the way of resources anyway, only a laptop, microphone and Garageband - a physical release will have to wait for now).

I would also add : CBC Radio 2 Canada Live to the podcast list. Lots of really good live performances. A few of my recent favorites are Patrick Watson, Ohbijou, Great Lake Swimmers and the show that Eliot Brood put on at the Republik last November. Really good sound quality also!
My favorite is KEXP though and you can find live performances from :
Japandroids, Wild Flag, Dan Mangan, James Blake, Austra, The Antlers, Of Monsters and Men, Givers, Neon Indian, Real Estate, Allen Stone, Doomtree, Alabama Shakes, WU LYF, Shearwater, Cloud Nothings etc.etc and this is just the past year. Very broad offering! Makes you want to visit The Crocodile in Seattle to see some of these bands live in a small venue as it seems like this is where most of these bands play.

There is a club in Portland also that KEXP sometimes broadcasts from that I can't think of that gets similar bands. Most shows at Crocodile $5-$20 bucks except for OLP $30
Also KEXP and NPR usually broadcast from and put up live performances from Sasquatch which tend to be longer live performances then the standard 20-30 minute poscast.
We just finished playing in the Original Music Showcase at the Blind Beggar which featured 30 bands playing original music over 10 straight Sunday's!
We placed 7th out of the 30 bands and managed to capture the show 3 different ways. We will be releasing the live album of the 9 original songs from this night along with our first self-recorded studio album sometime in May for free download! For now here is the whole show in 1080!
