Default Justin Trudeau and Patrick Brazeau Fight Night!

Link

http://www.calgarysun.com/2012/03/30...-fight-routine

Anyone else going to watch this? I like the fact that they doing it to raise money for cancer research. I will however be disapointed if they come out and it turns out to be a joke fight (massive puffy gloves)

I don't want to see anyone get hurt but I'm hoping for Brazeau to lay a beating on Trudeau.

Starts at 7:00!

They are supposed to have regular gloves, head gear and mouthpieces. Doubtful anyone will get dazed too bad with the headgear. Will probably go to decision.

I'd like to see Trudeau get some of the arrogance punched out of his body, but I doubt that's going to happen with headgear on.

Personally I would love to see Justin being hauled out of the ring on a stretcher with his hair shaved.

Perhaps broken ribs then.

I regards to it going to decision I think Trudeau has a good chance. He's got the reach advantage for sure.

This coverage on the Toronto Sun TV channel is hilarious, but I thought they were a news network.

Does a bloody nose count as dazed?

FYI: Result was Trudeau in the third round via TKO.

A shorter fighter is always at a disadvantage against a taller one. Trudeau used his reach to keep Brazeau at bay. Also, Brazeau totally gassed himself out trying to land a haymaker in the first round. Trudeau was definitely the better and smarter boxer.

Brazeau shows well for about 90 seconds and it's all Trudeau from there. Good for him, people were counting him out and hoping he'd get hurt and he finished the fight when there were only three 2:00 rounds.

It was an awful fight, they overhyped Brazeau's ultimate fighting skills. Both fighters looked really awkward and I can honestly say that I wouldn't be too afraid to stand in front of either of their punches.

The worst part was Sun T.V.'s terrible coverage of that event and throwing in their terrible human achievement hour crap thing.

I had heard that Sun T.V. was pretty unwatchable and that was proven tonight.

They did both look a little awkward, but neither is a professional athlete, so I'm prepared to cut both some slack on that score. Trudeau looked kind of like a gangly dweeb, but I'm pretty sure he would destroy me in a fight, so I'm not going to judge.

I think what this fight showed is that you get more out of accuracy than power. Going for the big haymakers is fine, but Trudeau landed about 20 jabs right in Brazeau's face. None of them were really hard, but I think collectively they really took the wind out of his sails. The fact is, your head just can't take that much punishment, even with a helmet on.

Meanwhile, Brazeau landed 2 punches early on that looked like they stunned Trudeau, but he expended all his energy and then after that it looked like the reach disadvantage really hurt him.

Maybe this will finally teach Conservatives about the importance of energy conservation.

I thought it was fun to watch. Brazeau completely ran out of gas. The first round looked like he was going to do some damage but that turned around fast. I don't have much good to say about Trudeau but good on him for fighting smart and coming out with an impressive win.

That Sun Media Human Achievment schtick was pathetic. Wether you support Earth hour or not it's a symbolic thing to bring awareness to energy conservation. There's no need to attack it.

When your fighting a guy with a long reach like Trudeau has, then you use the environment against him, you cut off the ring, get inside on him and chop down his body.

You basically try to break his live in half and crush his kidneys before you work upwards. You take away all of the jab power, and force him to expend energy in escaping.

If anything Brazeau was poorly coached and didn't have a game plan. Maybe he didn't take the fight seriously. Its almost like he didn't have a game plan besides swinging for the fences.

Both of them had really awkward footwork, they weren't throwing good punches from a good base. It was what it was, two guys who have never been in a real serious knuckles only fight in their lives.

Depends how low you set the bar for "news".

I'm actually a little surprised that Trudeau won this. Brazeau was definitely cocky and enjoyed talking smack, not to mention a fair bit bigger, which makes Trudeau's win even funnier.

There were a lot of unintentional laughs in the coverage of that human achievement day.

There was some blonde chick, and she was kinda hot, but she opened her mouth and that vanished in the most bizarre monologue that ended with "As the old saying goes, I'm incredibly proud of Alberta's Oil Industry"

I have to ask, but Cory Morgan was on there last night, and he just looked really uncomfortable with the whole thing.

It was just so over the top and amateur like.

I'm as right wing as anyone, but the Sun News Network, made us all look like chittering morons
