gotta be impressed by Baertschi. He's been incredible and fearless. Look forward to seeing him in the league next year.

As much as I would like to see Iginla hoist a cup, and am resigned to thinking it would likely have to be in different jersey, I am also of the mindset that I would love to see him stay in Calgary , so Sven can learn what it takes to play in the NHL at the highest level from a consumate professional.

Get a couple more Baertschi's in the draft in the next 2 years and we'll have that cup with Iggy.
Right now it's looking like he will be the steal of the draft.

Anyone else starting to think that Sven will continue to dress, and get his full 9 games in?
The way he's playing, combined with the team winning and I doubt they send him back until his 9 games are played.
They certainly don't have to rush guys back.

I don't think he will get the full 9 games, but I sure wouldn't mind if he does!

Like Francis said, Feaster keeps celebrating the voctories by kicking Stemps in the shin and elbowing Jackman in the face. Hell, it's working for us so I'll take it.

I don't think he can. It looks like Jackman, Bouma, and Stempniak are all very close. Then there's Cammelleri, Backlund, Jones. We were that deep in to emergency callup.
If there was a way he could stay they would find it.

Just out of curiosity, are injuries tracked by the NHL as a league at all?
Totally hypothetical (I hope), could Jackman be ready to go but the Flames are saying he's injured? Not sure how that is documented.

What did they claim, Baertschi was 8th on their draft list? They're probably pleasrd the 5,6,7 guys all got picked right now.

Is Sven only using #47 for the stint or is that his number for years to come.

The league does investigate injuries. For example when Warrener was on LTIR way back he would have to constantly be reviewed by league medical staff to make sure that the flames were not hiding him on LTIR for cap space. Not exactly the same scenario but it would be foolish to think the nhl would turn a blind eye to clubs hiding players on IR to circumvent the the 50 contract rule.

I'd guess those guys would be Couturier, Sheifele and Hamilton. I'd be happy with Baertschi too.

He wears 27 in Portland, so I'd expect him to want that at some point. He might stick with 47 or change to 37 or 17 next season, since Smith has 27.

From what Brent said on that video, the team can wait until the player is up to game condition even though he is ready for full contact practice. Some of these guys have been out for a long time and their conditioning and timing could be way off. To put them back in when their conditioning isn't good would be asking for another injury. I imagine if it starts going into weeks, the league would investigate.

72 would be cool, I wouldn't mind another couple higher numbers on the Flames.

He could just stick with 47 and make it his own, which would be kind of cool as well.
