Why not use VMWare Fusion or Parallels to run Windows on her Mac? You could have that insurance app running seamlessly on her Mac in its own window looking just like another Mac app.

Her Mac book is a few years old, and trying to run parallels is very slow! Even with a RAM upgrade. I guess I could try that again.

A dual boot Win 7 installation using bootcamp would be the best bet. (Unless it's important for her to switch back and forth between the PC and Mac without rebooting).

If a second computer is the better option for her, I would suggest just getting a new netbook. They are cheap, they work, and they are small. Windows 7 runs great on netbooks, and for $250 you can get something new and reliable. (With a battery that will run for several years, not several weeks).
