MLB is actually thinking about suing over the reversal of this based on the reasons it happened.

As has occurred in some other instances, the collector took the sample home and kept it in a cool place, in his basement at his residence in Wisconsin, according to multiple sources. Policy states the sample is supposed to get to FedEx as soon as possible.

So he gets off on a technicality and not because he actually had a clean drug test.

Ya but if I have learned anything from TV crime series is that by having a urine sample with the tester over night in a non sterile environment with no control over what he may or may not have done with the sample cast a reasonable doubt.
And if you are able to prove reasonable doubt you are innocent of the crime that was charged against you. There for Mr Braun is innocent

Does this cast a shadow on his career though? Say he has another 7-10 years like last year and hall of fame worthy. Does he get voted in or do they make him wait because he may or may not have done PEDs?
I'm glad he's not suspended. Better for baseball having the games best players in the lineup everyday.

If he has another 7-10 like last year while passing all drug tests gets voted in no problem. The players who cast the shadow on themselves by either doing them or denying them even though everyone can tell they took them. You can see in their career numbers when they became "clean" their production dropped off quite a bit. If Braun can stay clean and keep putting up these numbers for years to come then he deserves to be in the hall

He may be "innocent" but I doubt the majority of people are going to give him the benefit of the doubt that fundmark does.
I think for most people and voters Braun is a cheater and used PED's.

I just heard Braun's press conference on Jim Rome. He sounds far more sincere than Clemens or Armstrong. Rather than saying he has never been caught, he says expressly that he never took the substances.

I don't care if Ryan Braun is clean or not - this whole process is such bunk. So what is to say that the next person who tests positive, can't appeal for that period of time where the urine transfers into a 3rd party's hands?
The hell is the difference between a box sitting in some guys basement for 44 hours or whatever it was, to the box being in some random pick up man's hands for 44 minutes? Why couldn't he have tainted the sample in under an hour? MLB has unlimited resources - why the frick are you using FedEx?
Sweet lord, not only does Ryan Braun look bad (innocent or not) - but so does MLB. This is just such a damn mess - and Moon is right, no matter what comes of this - not many people are going to look at Ryan Braun the same anymore. We as fans have been down this path too many times in the last few years - after awhile, you just don't care what they have to say.

If you read the TSN article, it alluded to Braun possibly knowing the reason for the positive test, but not getting into it. While it looks bad on everyone, I just want to know if the herpes rumors were true or not. IMO, if that was the reason, I think I'd give the guy a pass. It would be funny though.

Down Goes Brown @DownGoesBrown Major league baseball has expanded its wildcard system, creating yet another playoff spot that the Maple Leafs have no shot at.

Awesome news if you're a Jays fan! I still would rather the Jays win the division as a 1 game playoff just seems too much of a coin flip.

Just one game? Lame. Should be at least 3 games.

I get that a three game set is probably the most fair of the two options, as the better team should come out on top - but there is something about a one game showdown that just gets me giddy... It is instances like this that makes me really want Doc back if we were ever to get there.
I know on MLB radio they were talking about scheduling issues, and the fact that baseball runs as late as it does as reasons for a one-game play in.

All this does is benefit the top seed in each league. Both wild card teams are forced to play their best pitcher (in all likelihood) making him unavailable for more than one start in the first round. It does make the chase for the playoffs more exciting from a league wide standpoint.

I agree, and I would say much more exciting from a Jay's fans perspective.

I hope the Rays have a really poor season, just to see you cry.
