Pavel Datsyuk scored his second hat trick in the Leafs last 4 games as the Leafs down the Hawks 5-4. This is also the second time the Leafs have beat the Hawks in their last 4 games. The Leafs did get outshot but Fernandez was good enough. Fedor Tyutin had 3 points. Pretty much a game dominated by the Leafs 2nd unit comprise of 4 Russians and Joni Pitkanen. On a down note, the Leafs PP sucks. It sucks bad.
Jets crash against the Dogs. DiPietro **** the bed in this one and got pulled after allowing 5 goals on shots 21 shots. GM is going to look at some new line combos to get Turgeon involved more offensively. Jets still 7th in the conference.
It didn't take long for Brent Johnson to gain the confidence of his new team
Johnson was the games first star in the Wild's 4-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche Saturday afternoon. After the game GM Farhall praised his new goalie.
"Brent came in here and made the impact we were looking for. Its good to know that we have someone that can get us a W now other than Dominik"
For his part Johnson seemed pleased to be a member of the Wild.
"This is a team that can possibly do something in the playoffs. I know that Hasek is the man here but I also know that the next two weeks is critical and I need to be strong until Hasek returns".
Offensively Iginla scored 1 goal to close in on the CPHL goal record. Bryan McCabe, Todd Marchant and Scott Gomez had the other goals, for Marchment and McCabe their first as members of the Wild.
