You and me both! It's been most of the season I guess that you hear Kerr yelling score before the puck even goes into the net. I thought he was just being keener or something.

Shaw/Global should've bid for Flames rights if they didn't. Some people say we should be happy Sportnet is doing every game. I disagree; their production quality is so subpar. And if they weren't broadcasting the games, someone else would.
Don't see NE US teams on Fox Sports Network, which is US Sportsnet equivalent.

It's extra hilarious tonight as it is skipping all the time and repeating a couple times tonight.

Hahahaha - time to get a new receiver that supports HDMI 1.4. Yeah, the digital audio is not sync'd up with the visuals. The analog from the RCA jacks just doesn't cut it with HD video.

I don't know if it was just my Bell receiver needing a reboot today, but I heard some lapses in the audio, quite a few times. At first I thought it was Kerr talking in rapid fire mode.
"Now over to Jokinen---over to Jokinen..."
"Iginla SHOOTS---SHOOTS!"

Rob Kerr trying to cram yet another "Flames tidbit" in, talking about how Iginla had a penalty shot last year vs. Toronto, almost took precedence over what Byron was actually doing this year in this game on the PS.
The mute button was on for the rest of the period, I can't take the random ramblings about some Flames fact or NHL tidbit that Kerr is more comfortable rolling out as opposed to focusing on the actual play by play. Unfortunately, I turned it back on to know when the game was back on in the third, and left it on long enough to listen to Kerr being toobusy talking about the Manchester Monarchs to almost miss calling Comeau's goal.

I can't stand Rob Kerr, formerly on the fan 960 and some radio station in Edmonton......

It has nothing to do with the receiver, it's the feed. The audio syncs just fine on TSN and CBC.

i agree - the audio was really messed up tonight
i pm-ed roger millions about the audio earlier in the season - asking about the delay and here's what he replied back with....
Quote:
Chris
The delay you are experiencing is not for all games. The Flames on home games have sold advertising super imposed on back glass.
Technology is working on speeding up the process. Each second is made up of 30 frames of video, right now the delay is 6 frames. So minor why worry. Fans should have bigger fish to fry.
Technology will look after sooner or later.
Roger

so that can account for a little bit of the delay, but i agree that tonight was bad. you hear kerr call out, "goal" and as iggy is about to shoot the puck - obviously something was off tonight
as for kerr's calling of the games - i think he's improved a ton this season. i was 'worried' back in october, but i found that sometime in november/december he just improved... he calls the play with lots of emotion, he gets really excited, knows a ton of hockey 'stuff'.... i don't know - i think he's doing a great job and will only continue to improve as the season progresses

Crappy 3rd rate sports station. So not only does that marketing crap messes with the look of the game, it's messing with the sound too.
I wish Global would take back regional Flames game, so Sportsnet can die a slow death. What a dog and pony show.

Yeah it kind of takes the suspense of the penalty shot away when you hear the PBP call it a goal before the player even makes his move and puts the puck in the next.
Amateur and IMO the Flames really need to look at how their product is being handled by RSN. Absolutely embaressing audio presentation, 3rd rate PBP & color commentators, YouTube quality intermissions, etc. If the Flames really want to grow their fanbase they really need to ensure their television partner is doing a first rate job of giving fans a reason to tune into a broadcast and that's simply not the case with RSN. I don't watch their pregame, intermission, and post game because it's so terrible. I know I'm not the only person that get's a little more excited to tune into a Flames broadcast when TSN is handling it. It's kind of a tragedy that Flames are locked into RSN. Maybe a petition could be started or something as the Flames need to hear feeback about how unnaceptable RSN's representation of their product is.

I heard this too. I was like why is he repeating himself, but then I realized it happened quite a few times in the 1st and 2nd periods -- the audio wasn't in sync.
I don't remember this happening last year.

Ok, so at least I wasn't going crazy. It almost felt like I was watching an online stream that was always re-buffering every so often.
