If you think the GoPro is lame, I'll take it from you.

Oh well, it is still the best gift ever. Her name is Kateryna.

She's cute. How is that name pronounced? Kind of like Catrina? Or more like Cat-er-eye-na?

Thanks, flameswin! (and others who thanked the op!) She's pretty darn sweet, think we'll keep her.

It's pronounced Cat-er-en-a. I suspect she'll end up with a nickname, though, it is a mouthful.

See here: http://www.forvo.com/word/%D0%BA%D0%...28kateryna%29/

A couple of shorter forms are Katya or Katrusia. We'll see what we end up using in the long term.

haha, that is hilarious! Kinda belongs in funny picture thread. What is with all the people asking for a car? Like as if that's some kind of reasonable request? Who asks for a car for Christmas? "Hey mom I threw together my list, you're going to want to focus on item number 1... yeah... I know it's a bit of a doozy but if you follow through I'm looking at black as my colour of choice and if you don't get me it I'm going to tear you apart on the internet".

I believe the one dude was upset when he actually received a car for Christmas but didn't get an iPhone?

Probably the height of stupidity in that video. I'm quite serious, I don't think it gets any further stupid, than that, right there. It would be positively amazing if all of those people were rounded up and placed on a plane together with no change of clothes, and only 1 $5 bill that they must agree to share during a 5 year stay in rural Uzbekistan.

Santa didn't actually bring me much anything (which is exactly what I wanted), but since I have a birthday on New Year's Day, I figure that's close enough for the purposes of this thread. And I'm really excited about my gift:

i've done stuff like that before - but 'usually' everyone knows i'm just clowning around.

i say 'usually' becuz before i got married my wife made the mistake of leaving me alone with the little scanner tool in The Bay that you use to scan stuff to add to your gift registry. i only needed about 15 seconds alone in the toy department and what do you know... a few months later we actually got LEGO as a wedding gift.... i don't think my wife found it nearly as awesome as i did!!! ha! ha!

Why the hell would you want that? Thank Roman for the £50M for me.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from NHL.com for my niece and nephew, and so I bought this for myself:

Other than that, I pretty much got what I wanted.
- My brother gave a $50 donation to the food bank on my behalf.
- My mother offered to buy me a new spring jacket, which was $150 on the web site. Instead I suggested she give me $20 to get the zipper fixed on my current jacket and give the rest to charity.
- My father, to whom I haven't spoken in 15 years, gave me a Canadian Mint specimen set. Which I see on kijiji and ebay, they sell for about $50. So my father made a $50 donation to charity.
